How tall is too tall for a prowler? I defintaley like the car a ton... but I have never had the chance to sit in one. I am wondering if I will fit. I am 6'3" 210lbs. Anyone of a similar size able to comment on how well they fit? -- Even better... anyone in the Northern VA area want to let a possible buyer sit in their car and 'feel' the seat for himself? Thanks -- If I fit, I will be looking for the right prowler right away. Thanks adamb |

Hack / Fixumm ... try not pulling so far into the intersections when you stop for these traffic lights -- will make seeing those lights a little easier without bending! Or ... how many remember the Burt Reynolds movie Gator? Cut a hole in the top and drive with your heads sticking out ... or only drive with the top down ... just some ideas for you tall guys. |

Thanks for the quick replies. I would definatley be up for a short road trip to check out your prowler meangene. Thanks for the offer. Are you available this weekend? Thanks again. FYI - I currently drive a miata - turbocharged ... so I am hoping that if I fit in one of those... I will fit in a prowler. |

The head engineer on Prowler, Craig Love, is at least 6'4", if I remember correctly! He has a yellow cat. |

To add to the list (and make you feel more at ease with the purchase), I'm 6'7" and 230 lbs, and my Prowler is my daily driver. No problem with fit -- just the "hair" thing the other guys mentioned. |

Well - I am 5' 8" on a good day, and if I move the seat cushion all the way up and tilt the back forward, if I had any hair longer than 1/2 inch it might touch the roof. One of my co workers that is 6' 4" drove it and said he felt comfortable. Watch out for MeanGene: I have been to his house!! Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

I'm 6'2" 225 lbs with shorter then avg legs for my height. I honestly wouldnt want to be any taller. My legs feel slightly cramped. I tilt the steering wheel up and down on longer trips to get comfy. You will fit, but how comfortable is another story. ------------------ 94' Mustang Cobra(Power Trip) 00' Trans Am WS6 Ram Air(Her car) 02' Excursion 4x2 Diesel(The Beast!) |

so, a 6'7" fits in as a daily driver... but then a 6'2" driver just fits. I guess I will have to go sit in it for myself. I think I would have to be VERY uncomfortable for me to talk myself out of getting one. Like I said, I drive a miata as a daily driver, so I shoehorn my way into that every day. -- Any one able to compare the interior dimensions of miata and a prowler? Thanks |

iwanna -- It's all in the seat adjustment. When you go to the dealership to give it a try, make sure you have the seat ALL the way down, and ALL the way back. You should fit just fine. -- Tarzan |

WannaBee - You will fit! WildBill XXL in Canada is 6'5". You can take off the sun visors (useless item) and you'll be able to see the traffic lights. While your at it, just remove the windshield wipers as well. ------------------

quote: This doesn't work for me. I wouldn't fit if I adjusted the seat this way. You need to drop the back of the seat the front will be higher then push the seat forward so you can recline the seat. This way you have head room and can fit. I am 6' 3". You can hardly see the headrest on my cat it is so reclined, but very comfortable. |

As someone who works with percentiles and body proportions for cockpits, it depends on your proportion. I am 6'1" and have long legs, so leg room is a challenge for me, but someone who is the same height but longer torso, would have an issue with the head room. Another factor is the million ways the seat can tilt and lower. I am CONSTANTLY fiddling with the settings. I have to change my seat position depending if I'm wearing dress shoes or sneakers which add an inch to my leg travel! Shoes ARE a factor! |

Adam, By now you have heard from the knuckle-draggers(Bob Goetz, Tarzan, fixumm,Racer X, Bill Shannon, etc.) and drag-queens(BlackTie161), so it really depends on what you are willing to put up with, like any other car! This message has been edited by MeanGene on 09-12-2002 at 09:54 AM |

*Smacks Ed upside the head with my purse* Ya know, a leather sole on a dress shoe is only about 1/4" thick. All sneakers are much thicker soled than a dress shoe. It DOES add to leg travel you buncha smartasses.. And another thing....I've seen MeanGene's dress hanging out the door when he closes it too!!! AND he keeps tampons in the trunk as ESSENTIAL Prowler items for those "less than fresh days" |
