ART, NEVER and I mean NEVER admit that out loud. That is like asking for directions. You have violated the male code. "This job is a snap, ought to be done in about half an hour, I'll be ready to go out to dinner by the time you get out of the shower, no problem". Any of that sound familiar. Please clean up your post before someone sees it. lol

Edward - I was taking you at your word that it wasn't that bad of a job. Boy are you in trouble now. I was planning on doing it this weekend since I hadn't gotten a chance to do it last weekend. Be honest - if it's that big of a deal I'll take it in. :o) T

Tami, I was planning on installing mine this weekend also. Let's prove to them that these little girlie hands of ours are good for getting into tight spots and come away with knuckles unscathed. Even if we don't, let's not admit it!

Tami, you are a very wise woman to take me at my word!!! It is not technically difficult but it takes a little time and the proper tools.

Hi Chris: Thanks so much - I really do appreciate it. I'm going to take a stab at it. Hopefully it won't be any worse than working on the engine of my vette used to be. I guess I had better find out what "proper tools" I need though.

Ed: Could you please tell me what will be required for the job - tools that is. Thanks for the help you two!

Kendra: I'm with ya girlfriend - we'll get this job done. ;o) Tami

Tami, on the installation instruction page it lists all the sizes of wrenchs, etc that you will need to do the job.

I did not mention a hole saw anywhere. Someone else did. You can get a paddle type drill bit for whatever size it calls for. Art says it would be a lot easier and he would do it again. I would take it to him. lol.

The reason I had my dealer install mine is so that it and any Mopar accessory that attaches to it are covered by the new car warranty. By the way they did use a hole saw.

The best way to remove the rear bumpers, a must to install the hitch, is with an air rachet and, I think, 13mm socket and wrench. Not sure on the trans cover bolt size.

1 1/8" (rear frame rail)and 1 1/2" (wiring in trunk)hole saw are needed. DO NOT USE PADDLE bit and cordless drill, unless you have a 18 volt drill.

It is VERY EASY to install. I think the 18 beers might have had something to do with the time it took to do it.

I did it in 1 1/2 hours starting at midnight after working all evening without air tools. The second time I removed the bumpers i used the air tools, much easier.

Tami and Kendra.........it's not that hard if you just follow the instructions.....something guys don't want to seem to do......it helped to have an extra pair of hands and make sure you have the right tools BEFORE you get started, especially for drilling the hole in the trunk. The worst part was getting the bumpers re-aligned after putting them back on! Good Luck!

Okay guys - I'm all ready then - I have all the tools necessary including the air wrench, so we'll see how it goes - now I'm anxious to get started. Hoping to get it done on Sunday. Good luck Kendra - we'll compare notes! Thanks all for the advice and offers! T

The worse thing about doing the trailer hitch is getting all of the alumanun stuff stuck in your back after drilling the holes. Did mine in 45 min It is easyer than typeing.

one thing I have noticed on several cars with a hitch. The bumpers do not line up. When I removed mine the last time I was trying to get them lined up better. I think the holes in the hitch might need to be opened up alittle to get more adjustment on the bumpers. I will do this the next time the bumpers are off. They are not off much BUT I know they are not right, guess you do too now.
