Okay, bumpers are off and my baby's on the ramps. Kendra beat my time - took me about 55 minutes to get the bumpers off. Didn't use the air gun. Tomorrow the hitch, muffler and polish the frame. T |

Kendra and Tami, I have faith in you both to be able to do this without the 18 beers and broken knuckles. I think this may show that reading the instructions has some value. You go girls!!! |

Update #2 trailer hitch is installed. Did it without 18 beers (just 1 pot of coffee) and no broken skin. My hands are a little cramped from having to fit them in all those small places. Nothing is broken, including the trailer hitch installation speed record, but that's okay. Took me a total of 3 hours to do. No ramps, no air tools, not even the 15mm socket that it told me I needed. (Turned out it was actually 17mm that was needed) When taking down the transmission cooler to access the reverse light wiring, it said to use a 10mm socket. Well on my car I had to use a 13mm wrench (13mm deep socket would have been much easier). Definitely use a 1-1/8" holesaw bit to drill the access holes - piece of cake. (don't forget to buy the adapter for your drill). Dropping the nut plates through the access hole was easy (didn't have to trim the corners). Just put it in standing it straight up through the hole, there is enough room for it to go all the way in, then just rotate it over and drop it down. Good luck Tami and anyone else that is doing this. I hope my experience will help someone down the road. Would I do it again? Sure would, it feels great working on my own car, and being able to tell the GUYS - "I did it myself" And for aligning the bumpers, I just used a bucket turned upside down with a roll of paper towels on top, slid it under the outside edge of the bumper to hold it up - stepped back and looked, adjusted paper towels until bumper was straight, then tightened bolts. Kendra: Way to go girl!!!! We got ours on too! Word to the wise - don't do everything I did today in 105 THI! I ended up going in and taking a shower and let Ken tighten up the bolts on the bumpers after I made sure they were straight because I felt sick. Used the hole saw too and it went right through. He did help me put the SSS muffler on and it sounds great and we drilled out the rivets and pulled out the baffles from the tailpipes. I polished the frame and it looks like chrome now - very happy. The only problem I had was I put the tranny cooler and cover back up before I hooked up the lights again - mistake! Had to take it back off and hook them up then put it back up. No speed record broken here either - but it's done and looks great. Thanks everyone for all of your input. Would do it again, but just not on a day as hot as this was!! AC - wait until it cools down in your area!! T P.S. Did have one Corona - it's amazing how good a beer tastes when you pull it out of the freezer and it has just a little bit of slush in it on a really hot day!
