WELCOME ABOARD...

Nancy and I are looking forward to Prowlin' the Seas with y'all in February 2003. Currently there are 4 states represented... Texas, California, Illinois and Florida. As this is the POA 2003 Winter National Event, we desire to have all 50 States represented, so get in touch with Lynn and Ben ASAP to guarantee your "Official Participant" space(s).

Just some reminders... this is a BIG EVENT... a FIRST CLASS EVENT... a UNIQUE EVENT, therefore Nancy and I have retained the Professional Cruise Services of Lynn and Ben Catalina as the "Official Prowlin' the Seas Coordinators" to insure that no detail will be left unattended and that you, as an "Official Participant", will not be disappointed in any way. This will be a FUN, FUN, FUN EVENT too, with additional Prowler functions being planned by us that are beyond that of the Ship's many attractions.

To coordinate ALL the Ship's offerings with the additional planned Prowlin' the Seas functions, it is required that your Ship's reservations are made exclusively with Lynn and Ben. With a single "Official" coordinator, you are assured to be included in all the "Official" activities... some which may be spontaneous. Additionally, we have requested that Lynn and Ben join us for the Prowlin' the Seas adventure... your personal guarantee of a truly memorable week in Paradise.

Please feel free to contact Lynn or Ben @ 888 522 7447 or email bcatalina@cruisesinc.com or visit their website www.CruisesByCatalina.com for that personal and professional assistance you deserve.

Sincerely, Jay

PS... Texas is leading in reservations!!!

Jay, As much as Linda and I would love to attend there is aboslutely positively no way that we can come up with nearly $2K minimum by 12/01. Maybe next time. Hope everyone attending will have a blast. Sounds like a fantastic event.

Rich... all you need to do is make a million $$$ real quick.

How about this for a start, I would like to commission you to do a commemorative Prowlin' the Seas 'Toon design. You have the "Official" logo and as creative as you are, I know you can design something that is suitable for our "Official" participants... a real collectable. First idea is that we will put this on some t-shirts or maybe a beach towel... something really different that is not available on e-bay. Of course, this will be an exclusive.

Additionally, you might offer for sale some personalized Prowler Toons for our participants... you know, the island theme, palm trees, etc. with your famous 'Toon Prowlers. I can hear the cash register ringing now... I want one of the Yeller Cat, how much? Think about this... $100 each for the personalized Prowlin' the Seas 'Toon for 20 or more participants and BINGO... you've made the $$$ for the event.

Hurry up and get started and make the deposit for y'alls room. See how easy that was. If you do 30, maybe a suite?

Please give me a call ASAP to discuss your fee for the "Official" Prowlin' the Seas 'Toon Design.

Best wishes, Jay

Just wanted to say that this cruise is shaping up to be a great event!! Bob and I have never been on a cruise before, never really had much interest (not fond of water ), but after reading much information about this cruise we are certainly considering that this might be our maiden voyage!!! Have spoken with Ben Catalina on several occasions and he has proven to be the utmost professional!!! Certainly very persuasive!!!

One of the most enticing draws for this cruise for us is the fact that we would be able to spend some relaxing time in the middle of a Michigan winter with some of the best friends we have........Prowler owners!!! It would seem sort of weird to be without the cats, but I've been to events without my cat before! As I've said before, the cars are what brought us together and it is a permanent bond, but friendship and comraderie is what keeps us coming back!!!

Wanted to thank Jay and Nancy for coming up with this idea and for putting all the time and effort it is taking and will continue to take to organize such an event. All of our events have been outstanding. All of the "national" event planners....Larry Lord, Marty Usher, Marc Scarbeary, Alex Leedham, Laddie Roussel, Jay Harris, Roger Freeman, Donny Burnap, Paul Rosenberg, David N, and a number of others that have been involved with helping them should be commended for their efforts and work in planning and hosting these events for the benefit of all of the Prowler owners. It is a huge job! Don't forget all of those people like Phil Horvath, Fred Henkel, Ed Monahan, Larry Mayes, etc. who have planned and continue to plan many, many "local" events. Even the smaller events take time and energy and these people are to be commended also. They are all helping to keep the "Prowler Spirit" alive and well!

As I have always appreciated all of you who have attended and supported the events that I have held and helped with, I've been trying to attend as many events as possible to show my support for other's efforts. Unfortunately, I can't make all of them. I encourage all of you to do the same! As I get older (yeah, I am) I am constantly reminded that life is too short and I have lots of things I want to do yet!

So.........let's go cruisin'........whether it is in our cats or on a ship!!!

Who is going to have the honor of being the FIRST Canadian Cat Owner to become an "Official" participant in the Prowlin' the Seas Winter National Event?

I know the weather on ANY Caribbean Island in February is slightly more hospitable than any where in Canada... Right? Even SOUTHERN Canada!

Come on down and join the FUN, FUN, FUN.

Jay

PS... we still need some more "States" to sign up as our goal is to have a representative from all 50 States and Canada.

We were asked: "Just how big is our Prowlin' ship?"

In nautical terms, it is 142,000 tons, the largest passenger ship at sea. But to make it more relative, let's compare it to a Prowler.

It is 74 Cats long and 25 Cats wide. We could load 1,850 Cats on the main deck, with no stacking. Considering that there are 14 passenger decks, we have room for the entire production. And still have room for you too.

Engine size? Turning radius? MPG? More to follow...

Lynn just returned from a fabulous week on the Explorer of the Seas! POA members joining us on this special Prowlin the Seas National Event will be amazed at the variety of things to do on board. And the "food was fabulous!"

I promised more "factoids" of the ship. Here's one more.

Horsepower:
Prowler = 253
Explorer = 103,345
(Yes, that's one hundred three THOUSAND horses!)

103,345 Horsepower is "slightly" more than the average Saturday Nite Cruiser for sure. What is the quarter mile time... speed? I think the Prowler, even as underpowered as it is, will be the clear winner.

Brian will likely need more than one bottle of wine.

Congrats Brian - should be a great time. I doubt I will be able to attend - as you know, a holiday for me is more than 2 days off in a row. We'll see.

For the cajuns in POA, I just found out that the Explorer of the Seas serves over 11,000 pounds of seafood per week! Bring the crab boil, Laddie. Still checking on the crawfish...

Northern Cat,
Call 1-888 522 7447 for your questions. It's a toll free number.

Ben and Lynn - which state is ahead in the reservations?

Question on the horsepower, Is that all the engines or only 1 engine?

OK Brian... you have done it now!!!

The Prowlin' the Seas "NATIONAL" Event has now become an "INTERNATIONAL" Event.

Way to go!!!

Nancy and I are looking forward to seeing you again and meeting Elena. See y'all on board Prowlin' the Seas. I know y'all will really enjoy the Caribbean weather... should be slightly milder in February than what y'all are used to.

Sincerely, Jay

PS... are y'all bringing Wayne Finch and Family along?

Phil,

Six engines powering three 4-bladed bronze propellers that turn at only 145 RPM each. But I think that each blade is over 16 feet tall, which is much taller than a Kat!

And... Texas is ahead in the reservations. We have many, many people all across USA & Canada in the decision or "thinkin bout it" stage. We'll be posting the full list later.

Ben
