Mom had a few stone chip on one of the prowlers and I hear of this method called langka chip repair. www.langka.com Anyway I followed the instructions and the chips totally, and I mean totally disappeared. I dared someone to find them and they couldn't. Super Stuff!!! I am sold. Can't wait for another chip. Ryan This message has been edited by Kid Rock on 06-28-2002 at 08:25 PM |

Thanks for the info. We've ordered some. Those hairline scratches down to the metal are heartbreaking. |

Kid, I have some chips on my Bike to touch up. Will it work on vertical surfaces and what's the procedure? |

all surfaces everywhere Had some buddies over today and we did a black hood. worked super. The trick is this. Let the paint dry about 5-6 hours then do it. I did one overnight and it worked even better. And use a 100% cotton tight rag like your old bvd's or mom's pillow case. I like the old undies better. Wrap it around the card tight and use a rubber band to make a ball handle. do it 10 times with every stroke lighter than the first. then check it. there ya go. chip is gone and smooth as the paint around it. I'm trying to picture what you're telling me but can't. Guess I'll have to get the kit. How many repairs will one kit do? Thanks for the tip This message has been edited by butchcee on 06-29-2002 at 09:13 PM |

Butchee I think the bottle will do hundreds. go to www.langka.com and see the video of the 12 year old doing the repair. It will give you an idea how easy and what professional results you will get. Ryan Click how it works and then go to the bottom and select the video type This message has been edited by Kid Rock on 06-29-2002 at 09:45 PM |

I just ordered the kit also. If it works as good as it says it does, it will be more than worth it. I had considered purchasing some months ago and regret not doing it sooner. ------------------ • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

What is the Langka? Is it just a rubbing compound you use on a rag around a card? |

Tom, I don't think it's just rubbing compound. When you are done, it is very smooth and not hazy. you can go the wet sand routine, but that effects the surrounding area of the chip as well. I read the development page about the product and found that there is some technology behind it. Ryan |

Not a slam on Langka but why would anyone want to spend twice the amount of money on it then what Mothers cost ( $10 )? |

As "Al's Prowler" posted above, "I think it's about the same as what Mothers offers, check this post out: This is GRROWL, the first one to mention Langka on this site in the above-referenced post. I DID NOT RECOMMEND buying Langka (it's twice the price of Mother's) but I did recommend looking at the online video demonstrations. GO TO WWW.LANGKA.COM AND WATCH THE VIDEO. It's quite impressive! Seriously, all the above questions will be answered - you will see an 11-year old girl fixing scratches on a new Lexus. Then we can use this site to answer more advanced questions (Yes, it works on vertical surfaces. Yes, it works on bikes. Yes, the Mother's bottle says right on the front "uses Langka Technology". No, it's not rubbing compound, it's chemical. No, the finish is not shiny - you either need to add clearcoat to the touchup paint or do the clearcoat afterward). Hope this helps. - GRROWL |
