I see several bars in my area host weekly "car shows", or "drive-ins" in their parking lots. Usually a Thursday night and usually they attract some Camaros, Mustangs and a few older 'Vettes.

My wife keeps telling me our new Kat (delivery this coming week, I'm told) will blow the others out of the water. I agree.

But there are other, more formalized car shows that I think the Kat would get a lot of attention at. Do you veterans recommend I participate?

Should I go as far to to create a 16" x 20" poster describing the Kat (stats, tire size, HP, etc.)? Ours will be one of only 2 Prowlers in the area, and the other one (Red) doesn't get out much.

I'd appreciate your comments...knowing that our car will reman stock, at least from the outside.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, just show up and you'll steal a lot of guy's thunder.
I go to 2 and sometimes 3 of those "drive-ins" a week. My car seems to get a lot of attention-I love it.

We attend as many as we can. Sometimes I will enter an offical show during the day and attend an informal drive in cruise night the same evening. Street rod and Hot Rod guys treat me very well.

The main thing here is how much of a good time you will enjoy with your Kcat. I am in the process of making a 4'x3' picture frame to take along if I sign up for any "Park and Shine" car show. Win trophies or not is beside the point. Meeting good people with my Kcat is always score 1st place in my book. Go for it.

Do it! They are so much fun and you also get to meet alot of other people with similar interests. It's amazing the number of people that ask "What kind of car is that?" Then I get to give them my pitch of all the Prowler statistics that I've learned from this great site. Oh by the way, I just pulled in my first overall best of show last weekend. What a great feeling! Also I noticed that out of 85 cars, the kat was definitely the most photographed of all. Just do it and have a great time - you won't regret it!

Here is a pic from one of the shows I went to last year:

I made two boards detailing the specifics and modifications I had done to my car. Nothing really special, but it was a nice addition.

What do you have to lose??? You will make some little kid's week just for the fact that s/he got to see one up close... Many adults for that matter as well... Have fun with it... It is all about meeting people and sharing stories & ideas... If you walk away with a trophy!!! Even better...
I took the time to make a sign to bring to shows with me... I have a picture of it but I will need to scan it to post. It lists info about the Kat as well as the mods that I have done to her... I found that as much as people know about cars, they really have no clue what is stock & what isn't, what is aftermarket & what is custom... This is especially true for the Prowler... You can't answer everyone's questions. Judges just usually just coast by and glance even if you have done a wild mod... I call them Airport Security judges... They will miss the subtle additions that only you or any other Kat owner would know about. Usually judges really do not know what they are looking at & are uneducated about the Kat. Depending upon the show, the judges are also spread thin, so anything you can do to help them save time & educate them will help.

Do it Kevin!!! Have fun!!! Good Luck!!! Knock 'em dead!!!
