I have had an idea which I have been kicking ever since I bought my Kat. I want to create a horn that has the sound of a (panther, lion, jaguar, jungle cat) roar. I already have a few sound-bites (no pun intended) which I compiled a year ago, but have ran into on problem... How do I make it work??? I have thought about burning them onto a CD and just leaving it in the changer, but the response time would be horrible. I have thought about buying an MP3 player & connecting it to the radio head unit or a preamplified speaker. The response time would be a little better, but I would have to find a place to install the player & I can't see wasting a $350 MP3 player just so my Kat could speak... I know there are units on the market that have sounds of train whistles, grenade launchers and lasers etc... How can I record the desired sound I want (with great quality) onto one of these chips and install it that way... I would only have to worry about a small button and the response time would be on target... I know this is a weird idea , but I really want it to happen... Please respond with any ideas no matter how ridiculous... We can all brainstorm together; your idea can spark a thought in someone else's thoughts. Thank you in advance for your time and help! Hi WildBill -- Maybe all you need is a small digital recorder/playback like this: or even a cheaper one; and a general $50 loudspeaker. -- Tarzan ------------------ |

This reply will offer no help whatsoever. The idea isn't new. My wife (who hates GRROWL, by the way, but I hate her Alley Cat because it hates me, see below) had that idea 2 years ago. When I said GRROWL needed a new horn, maybe a RoadRunner horn, she said it should be a cat growl (for GRROWL, get it?). I would be interested if someone would create/sell a replacement horn with a cat growl. Now, to answer Alley Cat's question of a while back (the POA member, not my wife's cat) - No, Alley Cat is not a male. In fact, it's a neutered female without claws (we acquired a used cat with the claws already removed - we didn't do it). Anyone have any insight into creating a cat horn without all the complexity? P.S. How come none of the stock Message Icons use prowlers? Like a car or cat jumping rope? Just wondered. |

Wow, Can some one help me with this post? "Now, to answer Alley Cat's question of a while back (the POA member, - No, Alley Cat is not a male. In fact, it's a neutered female without claws " I hope I copied the quote correctly. Are you talking about AC the (Alley Cat with the Silver Prowler from the wonderful state of Arizona? I thought something was strange. Dan G. |

In response to RBADKAT: Here's the sequence of events: KEY: 1. My first post was "Front Plate Mount-Better, Faster, Cheaper (Free!)" which can be found at: 2. In this post, I gave credit to Alley Cat <HUMAN> for referring us to a source of cheap parts. 3. I mentioned, "by way of coincidence, my wife's pet cat is named Alley Cat <FELINE> . . . . she's not particularly fond of GRROWL, and I'm not particularly fond of Alley Cat <FELINE> - her pet, not the POA member <HUMAN>" 4. I closed with the comment that I didn't post pictures for a number of reasons, including: 5. After expressing my negative feeling towards Alley Cat <FELINE>, Alley Cat <HUMAN> replied, "I'm honored to have your wife name her cat after me, hope he is a male cat!" 6. In this current post, I merely clarified to Alley Cat <HUMAN> that rather than being a young, virile animal that, in actuality, Alley Cat <FELINE> is a neutered, de-clawed female. I didn't think it was possible, but this post now contains even less useful information than before. I guess that's part of the fun of bulletin boards. |

quote: Thanks for everybody's ideas they posted... Even the one's that were emailed... I also emailed Wolo to see if they could help out with the request as well - thanks Cstall... Although Whom ever decides to buy the horn that plays "Macarena" deserves to be shot Although, it might sound good from a Vette Tarzan - That unit was a great size... Hope I can find a cheaper one with close to the same quality... I guess if worse comes to worse, I could always keep a real Panther in the trailer and pull his/her tail any time I need to... CJ - I am sorry I could not make it out there... I really tried too. Work kept me busy & my company is starting to really take off as well. We will have to catch up... I really hope everyone had a wonderful time... We missed everyone back here... BatCliff was even designing a great shirt... Next year!!! You guys should come to Carlisle...
