"Is it fast?" I have a real hard time answering that question for a few different reasons. My other cars... My Mustang Cobra runs high 11's, my Vette runs mid 12's and the girlfriends T/A runs low 13's. So the Kat is the slowest in the household... But my opinion is very off... I have a hard time telling people that the Prowler is fast. To most I'm sure it is fast, but to me it's the slowest car I've owned since my 90' SHO..... So for me I smile and say.... yes it's quick. What do you say? ------------------ |

I really dont care how much faster I go. If fast was my main reason to have a car, then I would have kept my 2002 Vette. I;m into style and how my car looks! Plus the Prowler runs real good for me. About gears and paxton, I would not do, I know some folks who have had them. I;m not going to mess with that and the bottomline it has its draw backs. I like to get into the Kat and cruz... I just say: It is okay but it wasn't built to race, it was built to cruise. It is the funnest car I have ever owned and I absolutly love it. ------------------ |

I usually tell people it runs 0-60 about like a Mustang GT. Just looks much cooler getting there! ------------------ |

I didn't get my Prowler for the speed... I got it for the looks. The Prowler has a "stance" that no other car has. If I wanted speed, I'd get a Viper. When people ask me is it fast, I say "not particularly", but I smile when I say it, and they understand. ------------------ |

When people ask me to race i just answer... "ok my VEHICLE vs yours." Then i just go home and bring out my highly modifed 2000 R1 and spank them. hehe i dont care what car you drive, my bike pulled ten's stock. Now it pulls low nines. To me a car will always be for crusing. Jason ------------------ SigEp VA Mu "Brothers out there with a little HFF action please say hello, I look foward to meeting you always." |

I tell them exactly that..... "It's Quick, but definately not Fast." Some people get the two confused.... Fast definately isn't a top speed of around 120..... |

I went to a local get-together Tuesday night. One guy said to me that my car was a wanna-be I asked him what he was driving and it was a 383 road runner. I said Ok, tell you what, we'll race for regi's. I told him I had the turbos and he shut up. Ahhhh, the power of intake pressure ------------------ |

Not to change the subject... But how do you like your turbo set up?? I am considering doing this in the next few months. Have you gotten any Dyno numbers, or 1/8th or 1/4 mile times? THANKS! ------------------ |

Most of the time I tell them is was built for cruising, not speed. However, some punk asks me the other day if it will squeal the tires. My answer...for a couple of blocks. Then he and his three budies start chanting "do it, do it". I say, "can you pay for the tires?" he shrugs. I smiled and turned the corner. Most folks who meet me in a gas station just remark about how cool it looks. Hotrod... ------------------ |

I always smile and ask them, "When it (the Kat) looks like this, does it have to be fast?" They get the point, and the conversation continues to ther things about the car. ------------------ |

Guys dont get me wrong... I would like the Kat to be faster, but I knew what I was getting. I just don't know what is "FAST" and what isnt. To me fast means it runs 12's or quicker.... my Kat ran 14.69 which not that long ago would have been considered fast. Lets be honest here, a lot of muscle cars from the 60's and 70's ran in the mid to high 14 second range... and they are legends. ------------------ |

I usually reply that the kat isn't the fastest out there but it's respectable. |

In my opinion, yes it is fast, But when I'm asked the ? I answer with what are you using for a refenence point. It is no way as fast as some of my other cars, but faster than most. You are correct in the times on on the cars from the 60's AND MOST PEOPLE WOULD THINK THEY WERE FAST. YOUR REFERENCE IS HIGHER THAN MOST AND ALL MUST BE MODIFIED. Now let me ask you, what are you using for a reference? Spend some $$$$ on cat and whip the cobra ------------------ |

quote: Thats going to be getting much harder... the Cobra is getting another 100rwhp very soon.... can you say 500+rwhp! Also my Vette is very lightly modded(airbox/exhaust), and the girlfriends T/A is all stock. ------------------ |

No one has asked the question yet..... But my answer would be "yep, it's fairly quick, and it's more fun than most. I have had a ton of cars and I can tell you it is just flat out fun....... will run with most cars today and yesterday. And if you want to, a few mods will make it hang with some of the best. Red light/Green Light is a lot of fun with this car. John |
