I always tell people that the car was not built for speed.. it was built for cruisin'. If you drive it too fast, it's hard to see how cool it looks!!

Betcha most of us might, maybe or could put a bunch of performance mods into the Kat. It might mean convincing, pushing, or manipulating someone into letting us do what we would do anyway. And I'll betcha at least one of us will put together a Prowler that will blow away every Vette or any relative that might come close.

But that's only part of the true spirit of the Kat. In the ongoing drag race its not who wins, its the feeling of racing. The Prowler may be parked, but it looks like the essence of motion. It you love the feeling of the race the Kat will always put you there.

We were out on the highway today, nothing unusual, sun, wind, just what you expect in a Prowler. Perfect day, perfect car--could be anywhere. Tourists, sunday drivers, various associated nerds and litle old ladies, but it didn't matter, we were prowlin. And the response was always the same: "way to go!"

I say "YEP" and if they ask again just flip open the deck lid and show them the nitrous bottle.

OR

I tell them "you can ask the (your choice) Vette, Mustang, Camaro SS that wanted to play on the way here. They'll be along shortly"

Happy Prowling

When asked if I wanted to race on the highway one evening I shouted back, "Naw, I look good already!". He showed a thumbs up and took off...

With the (muscle car of your choice) the fun starts at 6000 RPM, with the Prowler the fun starts in the parking lot.

Occasionally there are speed thrills and you never know when it will happen. At Bandimere Speedway in Denver right before the Colorado tour one of my runs was against a '67 Chevelle with blower and high rise manifold that did a mammoth burnout with a deafening roar to heat his huge slicks. We were staged properly and I hooked up off the line but his r/t showed 1.1 and at 60' I was two car lengths ahead. Brought some cheers from the Prowler group for sure. He went on to turn a 13.93 to my 16.35.
