We get asked so many questions with the kcat. Most have been asked before. stranger: "Well, at least you've got a big trunk." Every once in a while I will feel nutty and give totally off the wall answers before giving the real answer. stranger: "That thing must ride like a dream." me: "You know, its got a humongous battery" Mimic the actual size with hand gestures. "It stretches from one side of the car to the other." me: "I thought I got a good deal, but when I looked over the car, they cheated me out of one whole side!" So... are any of you wise guy's, too? Do you have any smart remarks when you feel in the mood? ------------------ |

SUNBIRD had a young kid (21-25) ask me what driving school i had to go to to get a license to drive the cat i could not help myself. I heard the fishing line going out by the mile so i told him that it was in mi. at the home of the 500. ThERE were people there to show 50 to 60 new owners how to get the most from their cars. I could not help it it was toooo easy. BYE FOR NOW LIVIN XL BILL S ------------------ |

One night I was out with a friend. At what seemed every stoplight, someone would talk to us about the car. We started out telling them about the V6 and then got to the point of exagerrating the engine size. We told a couple people that it was a 5.0 liter V8 and some the LS1 out of the Corvette. By the end of the night we were telling people it had a supercharged Viper V10. Funny thing is, not one person threw up the BS flag. On a related note, one day I was out running errands and within 5 minutes 3 people had asked how much the car cost. So the next time, a gentleman approached me when I was going to my car and he asked me if it cost $100K. I looked him right in the eye and told him the truth... yes! ------------------ MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

That's one of the great things about the Prowler, so few people know about them that they'll believe anything you tell them. Like Bill, I've told people it has a Viper V10 and they just look on in awe. |

It's kind of fun yanking someones chain, but I have always fisihsed up (so far) with the truth. I would hate for more incorrect info about our cars to be out there. My favorite personal story is when a 70ish guy walked up with his teen age grand daughter when I was pumping gas and asked what year car did my kit start out to be. I told him it was originally a 37 Ford and he immediately said to his grand daughter, "see, I told you.... I use to have one of those myself" She said she had read about how Chrysler was making a car called a Prowler and she had thought that was what it was. You should have seen her smile when I told her to read the Shimmers on the back bumper!! ------------------ Driving my Dream |

Always. It's like second nature to me. Is that a kit car? Yes and the damm people sent cheep glue with it. Nothing stays on! Wow did you build that? Yes and I'm still trying to figure how to put a top on it.(only when the top is down) But the best was a guy looking at the car for about 15 minutes asking questions and saying how much he wanted one comenting how fine it was then when he sees his friend he calls to him, hey bob come check out this VIPER! Cute thing is the car has plymouth prowler on the rear bumper and a great big banner across the windshield that says the same thing. ------------------ |

quote: Not only a wise crack, but a really neat idea! Let's see, some peforated metal, shaped just right, a little paint, a short length of cable coming from under the car....yep, I think it is do-able and would really make a statement going down the street!! ------------------ This message has been edited by sunbird on 04-08-2002 at 10:31 PM |

My favorite is when I'm at a car show and there are 15-20 people standing around the car chatting and I yell out "I'll give the first person to tell me where the spare tire is $100.00. WHAT FUN!! ------------------ |
