Need to ship my pampered Prowler from New Jersey to Punta Gorda, Florida (southwest - near Ft. Myers) any time between now and April 16. Who can I trust to do a quality job with my special car? |

Rich, One of my friends used exotic car transport (WWW.exoticcartransport.com) to bring his 59 caddy from the west coast to FL. He loves that thing more then life itself. He shopped around for a few weeks before signing up whe ECT. Their not the cheapest but they will take care of your Kat better then your wildest dreams. Good Luck. |

Hey Rich, Ill drive it down from NJ to Florida :-) Im going down to Florida on March 28th. All I would charge you is the price of gas. I wouldnt beat on it i swear. Id take real good care of it. And then you wouldnt even have to pay to bring me back since my mom and dad will be down there and will be coming back about a week later. Let me know what you think ;-) It wont end up like the Challenger in the movie Vanishing Point. I was going to drive my kat down there anyway....be a nice cruise.... ------------------ Amsoil Engine and Tranny Fluid This message has been edited by fortknox82 on 03-18-2002 at 05:28 PM |

Rich, I also used Exotic Car Transports to get my car to Bonita Springs, Florida about 3 months ago when I moved here from Cleveland. They were actually very reasonably priced, (I think it was $800 or close to it). The trailers used are the right ones for the job (air ride). Had no problems. Punta Gorda is about 1/2 hour from me. Lots of great Kat folks down here, look us up when you get here. ------------------ |

Thanks everyone!!! Jason, thanks for the kind offer. I talked with Exotic Car Transport and they seem to really have their act together and many runs north and south on the right coast. The price, insurance, trucks, etc.. were looking good, so I'm going with them. I thought the total price of $875 was very reasonable and the kudos I've heard from you folks make me feel even better! There was snow on the ground here this morning, so I can hardly wait to get to Florida permanently and start driving my Prowler more than just a half a year. |

Rich, You are moving to Florida too? I know Rex (Sano Prowler) is moving to Tampa and should be there next Monday. When are you gonna be getting down there? Maybe we can have a nice big cruise with all the Florida prowler guys soon. ------------------ Amsoil Engine and Tranny Fluid |

I have had good luck with Passport Transportation. Give Robert Pass a call and tell him I sent you. 314-878-5777 He has about 34 enclosed trucks and can get to you much quicker than most companies I have tried. Also, if we can get five or six cars to pick up in about a 200 or 250 mile radius he can fill a truck for Colorado and give us a special rate. Standard price for 1700 miles from Atlanta to CO is about $1400 each way. I think he can GREATLY reduce that possibly under $900 each way. |

I have had Intercity and Passport take my Kats back and forth to Florida from CT (NYC suburbs) a number of times. Under $900 in enclosed vans, and never a scratch. Passport even hauled one from West Palm to Seattle (unfortunately, not for $900). Intercity can get temperamental about specific dates. Passport is a little higher, but they work hard to make the dates you want. This message has been edited by deelmakur on 03-19-2002 at 11:23 PM |

Rich; If you live in New Jersey you should be familiar with HORSELESS CARRAIGE TRANSPORT. They are the Premier transportation company for Exotic and Specialty Autos on the east coast. I used them several years ago to bring my Prowler from where i purchased it in Vermont down to N.J.. I will tell you they were prompt , professional, and you could eat off of the floor in the enclosed truck they used it was so clean. Use Them!! |
