The day has arrived, for the car to come home, been prowling this site for a month and half while dreaming about this day. Put deposit down back in early Feburary after shopping around for the best deal, saved thousands under what even used ones are going for, now I can buy all the extra items, to make it look even better, if that is possibly. The following items will be done in the first month, remove front bumpers, which will be sold on this site, if anyone is interested in them make me an offer. Get Tom's relocation kit, deck lid protecter, need information on the clear front end protecter, and do you like it,? Decided not to go with a bra, FOR THE CAR. Mud flaps, how much should be trimed off them? New front pads, Trailer hitch, $9 chrome grill, protect all wax. Next month will be the weekender and flames. Bought the car from a dealer on Woodward Ave. in MI. get a spot to park for the dream cruise also. What else would some of you suggest? the mechanical end will come this coming winter, don't want to do to much at ones. I was waiting for some rain to come, needed salt off the roads before I was going to bring the car home, got that Friday, and Monday is my day!!! Also don't forget anyone looking to buy a prowler and get the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty has to the end of the month. How is the user name on this site to be changed? I want it to match my personel plate for my car, when I first come to this site did not know what that would be. ------------------ This message has been edited by naumann on 03-17-2002 at 10:32 AM |

Welcome - I hope the weather is good for you Monday. People that trim their their front mudflaps (I did not)usually trim 1 inch. Consider getting the ceramic brakes for the front only. The brake dust from the original is horrible. You can find them at Pep Boys or other retail sources for about $70.00. We had 58 Prowlers at the Woodward Ave Dream Cruise last year. I assume (hope) CJ will be posting some info about this year's plans in the near future. You can go to edit profile to change your name I believe or you may have to register again with new identity. Congrats and welcome. My old flaps were scuffed after 3 years sevice so I put new one on last night. I trimmed 1 inch off, same as before. I used a pair of snips puchased at Sears, very easy. If you decide to trim here is a trick lay one flap inside the (back of one to the face of the other). Mark with a pencil on the inside of one flap 1 inch from the bottom, the contour of the flap (usng the bottom of the other flap as a guide). Then use that line as a trim guide. Most people do not even notice my flaps are trimmed. ------------------ This message has been edited by BeWare on 03-17-2002 at 11:47 AM |

Congratulation on your new Kat, Monday should be o.k but most of the rest of the week sucks. Some say you don't need to trim the splash guards but I trimmed mine one inch (closer to 3/4"), here's a link showing mine. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/004659.html |

Congrats kid....you are in for lots of fun.....just think long and hard before you sell the bumpers....may not be all that hard to replace, but if you ever sell the car you might want them for legal reasons and the next owner might also want them...just don't be in a hurry to get rid of them...have 3 sets hanging in my garage, they don't get in the way....also, might want to take out the clear turn signal lenses from the front bumpers and put them on the back bumpers....looks kinda KOOL....another great addition to the interior is the chrome striped shifter knob, think Tom Mills has these also...LOOKS just right on the car.... ------------------ |

The car did make it home, I love it!!! Anyone looking for a blue prowler, when shopping for this one found another one for a few thousand more, around $40,000, from a dealer down the street. Write back for more info on this second one, he still has it. ------------------ |
