DC says, "Inca gold was bad choice". Spoke to a friend at an automotive news group. We chit-chat often and I do bring up the prowler quite often. He says the someone he interviewed said the gold was a big mistake.

Do you agree?

I think they feel Mulholland blue was a mistake as well, first chrysler, shoulda been limited, numbered, built to many, with the blue top shoulda been more of a special edition etc.. Its hard to say what will sell, especially in a recession.I own an Inca and a Mul. blue and while they are not my favorite they all look nice. Given a choice between candy red, yellow and Inca gold I am sure more reds and yellows would sell. Its a nice car and CJ says it correctly, its exactly what it was supposed to be. The team at DC has changed and so has the vision. I think if Inca gold was the only color ever avail most of us would still own a prowler (some maybe would repaint it!!) but they would most likely own one. Is Inca Gold a mistake, I dont think so. I think the car is ending up right were it was supposed to be in the 5 years they planned. I think it should have been advertised more and the dealers should have left the prices alone. But what do I know..

The DC did it wrong. The customer should have had many colors to choose from. Not just what the DC wanted!!!!!!!!

Not a big fan of the color. Many others would have been better.
As a last hurrah they should produce a very limited number of a few different colors

Example: 100 of each of white, turquoise, lime green, bright orange, and yes, maybe even pink.

I think Wayne hit it right on the nose. I'd go for the turquoise myself. I think it's pretty hard to make a Prowler look bad, but IMO gold didn't make it look better.

I will make sure that if I attend any events with you" all, that I will park or drive my Gold Prowler in the back so I don't embarass you"all that have cooler colors........
GOLD IS ALWAYS A RUSH
All Prowlers and colors are way cool. DC needs to find another excuse than color for their poor sales......
DC also needs to send Bob and Teather a Prowler for free in a color no-one has.....
I wonder if the person that said that.....about "Gold"
Kicks his dog

Actually, I kinda like the Gold... It's grown on me since first seeing it at Crazy Horse (where I didn't like it). I see the same one at a dealer from time to time and it's a Prowler...

The GOLD is very rich in color, and I like it also.

Brad and to the other Gold owners, you can attend any event and park right next to me,,,,I'll be proud to have you there.

Some people, like this thread starter, like to bring up color choices and color opinions all the time. I see this as non-constructive to the purpose of this fine website - to bring Prowler owners together to share friendships, information, and have their questions answered. I can acknowledge their right to say what they want, but apologize to the owners who feel they are slighted by afew. Since "WE" do not decide what colors DC chooses, "WE" need to accept all buyers of all Prowler colors and go forward in a positive manner. JMO

I am not "knocking" gold, it is just not my favorite color. Having said that, if the Prowler only came in gold, I would have one.
My posting is really to bring up potential new colors.

Wholly?? MR. NICE GUY A/C is that u typing LOL....

I like Laddie seen it at Deadwood didn't do anything for me but it's still a Kat and we love Kat's regardless of what colour we buy or have them painted after.
Brad you can park next to me, but really thk about getting to close to the other guy that offered, there have been rumors going around don't really want to get into it at this time..

We have a gold Kat not to far from here at a DC dealership and the more I see it the more it grows on me to.

Even though is not a Prowler, I thought this fits this thread perfectly; this Lambo used to be red. The owner decided that he wanted a wild color for a wild car. Now this was done in 1992, and everybody went bezerk when the car came out of the paint both. "You are crazy, you cannot paint an exotic car like that", of course everyone knows that Lamborghini now paints is cars orange, purple and whatever color you want. Was he ahead of his times? Maybe.

Brad, Purple and Gold look great together, you can park next to me anytime. We need to get together and take some pictures and post them. I think a Pearl Cat would be awesome as long as they used a true Pearl White as seen on customs.

Like Laddie said, it is growing on me. I personally wouldn't buy it, but everyone has different thoughts on HotRod colors, mine just wouldn't have been that shade of gold. JMO

Brad - us 2 cheeseheads will look way cool in our gold kats at the next packer game at Lambeau, as long as we dress in green, the green and gold will be represented!!! I hope your not a vikings fan cuz purple and white would look a little strange on a kat!!

When I bought my Prowler last year, I only wanted a red one and if the Prowler didn't come in red, I would not have initially bought one. I still prefer no other color over the red. Although I question DC's choices of colors, I can't say that any of the colors are fugly, especially when placed on the Prowler. Like previously mentioned, I would have chosen different shades of the colors produced versus the final color decision. I think the Prowler, much like the Diablo above, can get away with almost any color and still look attractive. I am more upset that Chrysler left the driver-side rear bumper blank on the Chryslers than I am concerned about the colors.
