I got to do that to mine cause the finish product isn't that great. The grill doesn't go on straight it's higher on one side. I did not pay that much money to have to alter it. I paid 1200 for mine back in march. And I thought it was coming with the screen behind it but it did. not I am sorry I do not mean to be negative but I feel I paid a lot of money for that grill and I was disappointed, with the workmenship.Dont get me wrong the grill is beautiful but It would be much more beautiful if it was done with a little more Finesse. ------------------ |

I have been wanting to see the M&L grill for some time. After seeing the bad quality on Rudy's car this past week I am not into getting one. Not to be to critical, but I can understand why they reduced the price. Rudy , they need to make yours right, until then I will keep my $12.00 chrome job and keep the additional 00's in my pocket. I had to tell it like it is..... Maybe Dean painted it to hide the imperfections? Not good quality. |

Rudy- I have one of the first M&L's out there. Since the front ends do vary a little I made my own mounting tabs that I can adjust up and down. Mark has always been a stand up guy with me and I'm sure if he knew your feelings he would contact you.(I assume he will now). It took a few tweeks here and there to get it right and I always seem to want to re-adjust it some way or another. Overpriced???? HELL Yea, but then isn't EVERYTHING for the Prowler! I love the uniqueness of the '32 Ford style, so I live with it. Ralph(TaxAce) you out there and wanna post on this one. JMO Let me know if I can be of help. ------------------ |

Paul. True I have tried to tweek with it for some time but I got it in the best position possible. I've called on the grill some time ago but what can be done? True it's not worth the money but like you've said I live with it also. Looks good on but different when you look up close. Especially when they ask how much did it cost. ------------------ |

Ya Paul and Rudy: I too ordered the grille off the picture of Marks car. When I received the grille it was a day of great excitement and disappointment. I was disappointed in the top part of the grille and the unfinished look of it. I WILL SAY IN DEFENSE of Mark and M&L that the two or three times we talked after I had the grille he on EVERY occasion told me that if I was not totally HAPPY with the grille that he would refund my money at any time. After he attended the SEMA show in Vegas and I was in Oregon buying a 29 Ford Phaeton we talked and he told me of a couple of kats that had painted the top part of the grille. Painting alone will NOT DO IT You need to fill in the seam with an epoxy metal filler sand it down and then primer and paint it out. This is what I did to mine and its kool. And I am a very hard person to please when it comes to my machines and toys. A friend of mine who has a sheet metal shop that manufactures in stainless had a suggestion that we use a 1/4 or 3/8 stainless rod and spot from under the top part of the grille and then polish it out. The grille when you see it head on is fantastic but the kat is low and when you stand over the hood and look down you see the unfinished look of the grille. Other than that the grille is quality work. I think that Mark needs to hear from the end users of the product both pro and con so that whatever concerns that we voice he can make his product better. Mark is a very sincere person and will stand behind his product with refunds if necessary. I will post pics of the finished grille as soon as I figure out how to do it. I think that exhange of concerns is healthy for all concerned Rudy I will e-mail you all my pics from start to finish on the making of the grille FANTASTIC. ------------------ |

Rudy: If you had trouble making the grille fit perfect then do the following. Go to the hardware store and get some small clear bumper dots and spot them around the grille at various points and then put the grille in the car and adjust the dots until you get a perfect line on either side. This also helps not having metal grille rubbing on the body part. Doing this will make it perfect side to side and up and down. ------------------ |

TK- Perfect perception! I too would be interested as we discussed to see the pics. Whatever I can do to help. Mine will be painted this winter and I need to adjust it again as I am showing a little metal wear on the edge of the hood. I have also painted the frame nose bars to match the purple and have a 10" horizontal bar of purple neon inserted. Just enough. JMO Thanks for everyones input on this topic. ------------------ |

somewhat off the original topic but still it regards grilles. Sasquatch was so pleased that Marty U paid him with $ 10.00 in pennies at Woodward that he had all of the pennies bronzed when he got home to AZ. ------------------ |
