We've been kicking this discussion around on the Viper board for a while and I've decided it's time to bring the Prowler owners in on it...
Basically I have created a company which is in the business of MAKING YOUR CAR PAYMENTS FOR YOU if you own (or want to own) and drive an exotic car (Prowler or otherwise). All you have to do is qualify for a loan (which I can help with) and make the down payment. I then give you enough money per month to make your car payments, and in many cases, extra cash goes in your pocket!

There is, of course, a catch or two...but read on, it's NOT a big deal. 1. The car MUST be driven 1,000 miles per month (about normal for a daily driver). 2. The car is outfitted with racing-style stickers for various sponsors.

What you end up with is a replica racecar (minus wings, roll-cages, etc) virtually free! If desired, I will even buy you a racing number of your choosing. The stickers ARE removable and are guaranteed by the manufacturer NOT to damage the car's paint. Once the loan is paid off, you can either take the stickers off and just enjoy your car, or stay in the program and POCKET $800-$1300 per month! (more for more exotic cars)

This is an idea I've been thinking about for a while and finally decided to go ahead with it. I've been an exotic car enthusiast for 20 years and have wanted to be in the industry for almost as long.

The name of the company is X-Zotic Advertising, Inc. and we have a website (under construction) at http://www.xzoticads.com . There are more details there in the driver FAQ. There's also an advertiser's FAQ for anyone interested in advertising.

Have a look at the website and let me know what you think. The Viper club has made some great recommendations which are being incorporated into the system as we speak.

Sounds too good to be true. I wouldn't put the ads on my Prowler but I would like a Viper and can't afford it right now. This might solve that problem. Has anybody used this company? Heard anything about them?

Well - I have put 15,056 miles on mine since May. Maybe I 'll get a "beater" Viper to drive this winter so I don't have to mess up my Prowler in the snow.

Happy Prowling

Actually Voodoo, the fact that it sounds too good to be true is probably one of the biggest problems I've run into. Everyone thinks there must be some other catch to it. There really isn't. The only other thing I can think of is I'm going to have to verify the mileage somehow on a monthly basis which requires you to attend some kind of gathering. It will probably be car shows in the summer and something equivalent in the winter (for areas that actually have winters).

As for the question about anyone else using it, it's a brand new concept and a brand new company. We're shooting for a December 1st launch date so no one has actually done this yet.

And as for the mileage, 1K per month really isn't much. I put 3K per month on my Viper for the past several months. Imagine if people were PAYING me to drive it!

Please post any other questions you may have. I'll monitor this thread over the next few days.

Geez - I could put 100 miles a day on it just driving to work and back. I would love to have a daily driver that I didn't have to worry about putting miles on. I have put over 8200 miles on mine since May.

If your company didn't make it and I had to sale it (because two car payments at this point in my life wouldn't be the easiest thing) - having a lot of miles on it would be difficult to get a good market value out of it. JMO

Rob,

Do you have to live in Virginia? I think that I would be interested, and may have a few friends as well. As far as the mileage, I live 52 miles one way from my office so we shouldn't have a problem there. Will you have some sort of contract to protect both parties? If so, would you have a problem letting me read the terms? Thanks for your time.

Hooker - why is there a 1,000 miles a month requirement?

How do you benefit from this deal?

Driver pays taxes, plates, and insurance right?

What is the worst case situation to me if it fails at some point?

Couldn't local Viper Club or servicing dealers verify mileage?

Hodge,

No you don't have to live in Virginia. I'm starting the program in the greater Washington, DC area and then expanding from there. I don't know exactly how quickly I can expand but it will be very swift.

As for terms, they are being hammered out by several attorneys right now. They will be available to those who are seriously interested.

Please go to the website and fill out the form to be added to the list of interested people. Once more information is available I will e-mail it to everyone on that list.

This is not a totally new concept. see this web site http://drivefreesigns.com/1000/

Unlike the above where they provide you a Car or SUV or ???
which is a lease in their name. I take it I would be purchasing this vehicle. What guarantee do I have that you will provide the monthly payment for the full term of the loan? What is your Liability if you go bust? Without specifics as I see it all the risk is on our end, as well as the risk to our credit ratings. Also the decals themselves may not damage the paint but when taken off the unexposed to the elements paint would certainly look different than the exposed. Just a few thoughts and questions.

Sounds like the deal is about advertising. Everyone looks at a Prowler, and I suppose one with certain ads could sell enough stuff to pay for the car. It depends on what the appeareance of the car means to you personally.

I read on the Viperclub board that you'll pay from $1000-$5000 per month depending on the car. Is this price based on the cost of the car, or how popular the car is on the road. Out of all the cars on your list, I'd say the Prowler and Diablo would get the most attention. It seems to me that those two vehicles should recieve the highest payments. Advertising is all about getting people to look at your ad, and all types of people, even people that usually don't care about cars, gawk at the Prowler.

It is true. The first car advertisment I saw was when the Beetles where hot. Saw one with Coca-Cola plastered all over it. And I mean A L L over it. The guy said that they were making his loan payments and pocketing a little extra. That was about 2 1/2 years ago. The decals on that one looked like the ones you see on the Airport shuttle buses and on radio station SUV's.

I am, of course, already familiar with the other companies offering this type of arrangemnt. This is a new idea in that it concentrates on exotic cars that REALLY get people's attention which makes them much more valuable to advertisers. For that reason, I'm able to pay enough money to cover the cost of the exotic car.

The competition also requires that you travel along a set route and they even install a GPS system in your car to track you. I would consider that an invasion of privacy, as would most people. They also kick you out of the program if you get any speeding tickets. They may let one slide but for the most part, if you get pulled over, your payments are then up to you. My program is much more reasonable.

Another point is that one of my competitors gives you a lease on the car which is still in their name. At the end of the five years, you have NOTHING. At the end of the loan term in my program, the car is YOURS! Enjoy it.

Also, to answer another question, the reason I have the 1,000 mile per month requirement is my advertisers are paying to get these ads seen on the street. If you enroll in the program and then let the car sit in your garage for six months, that does us absolutely no good.

The driver is responsible for things like taxes and tags.

These are great questions and just the type of thing I want to add to my FAQ. Keep them coming.
