Good Evening Fellow Prowlerists:
Any insight as to why my Trip Computer is tripping out?

Intermittent symptoms as follows:

a) Shut off Ignition & remove keys:
Computer LED stays lit

b) The computer occasionally gets stuck displaying "CAL" for Calibrate

c) I toggle the headlights on & off and the computer just freezes with the letter "E." For error?

ANYONE else ever seen this on their 2000 Prowler.....or any Prowler? Yes, of course, I looked like a jackass trying to re-create these symptoms at the dealership. Anyone? It's chronic & worsening. Thanx a ton in advance.

Peace out,

juanpatino@aol.com

I just had a problem yesterday, it didn't come on. Tried togglling the switch all the way to work with no success. Figured I was going to have to go to the dealer. Got to work shut the car off, then restarted and all was well.

Go figure...

We have great service and we have .... not so great. If you do not have a great dealer in your area tell us where you live and someone will tell you of a great place to take the car for service.

I never heard of the problem you mention.

I had the same problem right after I purchased my car. I called the dealer to ask if there was something I could do since I didnt want to part with it due to it being new to me. He said to disconnect the battery for atleast 10 min. I did for about 30. This reset it with no problem. I later had it replaced after it got real loose. The dealer said it needed to be replaced. Funny thing now is, Its at the dealer again because it fell off!!!

Good Luck,
Don

On that way back from Hearst Castle, mine went out for awhile. There was nothing there and there was nothing I could do to bring it back on.

We stopped for lunch and and when we got back in the car, it worked again. Go figure.
