Can the Prowler flag holder hitch hold the US flag?

If so where can I get one?

Brian, if you are talking about the flag caddies that clip into the trunk lid, yes. I have them. They are $22 plus $ 2 shipping. They include all the hardware, 2 poles and 2 American flags. The hardware is outstanding. The poles are okay and the flags aren't much. They do the job, however. Ed Monahan, 355 Grand Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45205. If you want one send me your address and I will mail it right away. The mail may be kind of slow right now.

Please send me a set also. I realize you said the flags weren't much. Does this mean I should replace them if I want to have them on at freeway speed?

I will put a check in the mail tomorrow. Please send the flag caddies to:

Jim Clayton

Thanks!

Jim & Joe, I will put them in the mail to you in the morning. I don't know how quickly you will get them due to the airlines being grounded.
The flags are very thin, and I think they will shred quickly at 60 MPH. At that speed there is a lot of wind resistence or drag and I would think almost any flag would be in trouble. I think someone said they put a bead of glue or super glue on the edge of the flag so that it would not shred.
The hitches are worth the money, in my opinion.

Spoons, they do not touch the painted surface. They snap into the deck lid where the convertible top snaps into the deck lid.
Do a search for flag caddies, user name Laddie Roussel and then look for 5/24/01. Scroll down to his pictures. They are excellent pictures. However he got a different MODEL from the same company. Laddie has to open the trunk lid and screw the bottom piece into the top piece. The ones I have can simply be snapped into place from the top. To remove you pull the release near the back of the passenger seat. There is a wire clip inside the latch that holds them in place and you can tighten it up simply by screwing in tighter. The lower edge is beveled for easy insertion.
I am not computer literate and can't post pictures. Laddie's flags, poles and the top piece of the caddie are exactly the same, it is simply the lower half of the caddie that is different. I bought a lot of 50 sets in order to save everyone $5 per set. I then re-ordered 50 more sets and he raised the price one dollar since it was a different model than the one I originally thought we wanted. He caught the error and sent me one of each model before he shipped the first order. You can go to the www.flagcaddie.com website and look it over. He does not have any decent pictures posted, unfortunately. Originally it was Corvettes until I ordered 100 sets, now it is Corvettes and Prowlers. I hope that helps some. Andy, post a close up of the caddie, PLEASE. Otherwise, S**** will give you the skunk eye.

Guys, I have a set of Ed's flag caddies and they very nice. During the Colorado Avalanche winning of the Stanley Cup I equiped the caddies with Av's flags and had no problem. It should be no big deal to get some Quality US flags and put them on Ed's caddies. When driving with the Ed's suppied US flags (faster than 20mph) they whipped and cracked pretty good. After one 20 min run the flags were frayed.

For those of you with trailer hitches, here's another possible way to show our flag & colors...

I used a 5' section of conduit pipe. Bent it & drilled a hole to use the same receiver hitch pin. I've used it at Crazy Horse & Woodward. It holds up to high speeds...

I used the 3x5' American Flag banner (rather than flag) to slide over top of pole (I did put a rubber cover over the top end of conduit).

Thanks Dan. Once again you came thru for everyone. I mailed flags and caddies to Jim C, Joe P, Nelson W. and Rich T, today. Thanks guys. I drove around downtown this afternoon displaying the two American flags and got a lot of thumbs up, more than usual.

Ed,
Got mine this morning and I'm flying the flags this afternoon. Boy, I'm impressed with the postal service - you mailed on 9/13 and I got them way up here in a day and a half. What a country!

Rich, glad to hear you got them that quickly. I was just going to post that I was impressed with the postal service since I got Nelson's check in two days from MO. I guess things are moving at a better than normal clip. I thought I would only get junk mail for a week. I actually got a lot of mail today. Another uniform service shows us a little something to be proud of. How about all of those fireman and cops? They deserve a lot of praise. I think the Armed Forces guys will be getting a lot more action in the near future, also. I hope everyone remembers all of this for a LONG time.

Mad Mikey, the hole in the top of the caddie is about 3/8 inch so any thing that is on a pole of the right diameter will fit. Or else you can remove the US Flag from the pole and place another flag on that pole. The pole that comes with it is actually some type of plastic that bends somewhat in the wind, which may be preferable. I bought high gloss black wooden dowels and they were just a hair too big in diameter so I sanded them down and they are just shoved into the caddy and hold fine (with the exception of one Crazy Texan who lost one on Woodward and almost caused a T-bone collision in reverse. I had to retrieve it since they have a lifetime guarantee) But I digress. It is very simple to adapt another flag and/or pole to the caddy.
Rex, I will mail one early in the AM at the main post office.
