I just recieved the flag caddies today. They look great! I hope you get my check soon. "The check is in the mail" Probably has been held up by the air traffic stoppage. Coast to coast mail is just starting to move. ------------------ |

I made 3/8 inch plastic poles that will flex some like the originals by cutting the bottom bar from a plastic coat hanger. ------------------ |

Do these flags hold up doing 60 mph down the highway? |

Yes, they will do 60 but make sure your posts are firmly placed in the holder. I lost a post. I have taken my flags on the FWY 3-4 times and the one I have left (the one I didn't lose) is starting to fray on the end, but that is it. ------------------ |

I ran 75 and here is what happened. One flag shredded almost immediately the other has been interchanged between both our cars at freeway speed and the edge is a little frayed but otherwise fine. I can't figure why one would shred so easy on the first time on the car and the other is still fine after 11 days. And its been on the freeway nearly every day. I guess it depends on the quality of construction. Both flags from the same company. I guess what I am saying is there is no way to predict how they will hold up. ------------------ |

Hey Ed, Did you get my check for flags? Haven't gotten flags yet, but since I live in NJ, mail may be extra slow. Just following up. Thanks. Rex ------------------ |

Rex, I got it. Thanks. When I mailed them, the clerk at the post office commented about sending stuff all over the country. I wonder if they forgot to sort it because a couple of people still didn't get them. Hopefully you will get them today (Monday). This message has been edited by ed monahan on 09-24-2001 at 12:22 AM |

Thanks Ed. Got flags and hardware in today's mail. I'm going to take someone's advise and seal the edges so they hold up at high speed. Will be flying them this weekend. Regards, Rex ------------------ |

how do you seal the edges of the flags? |

Dear Spoons, Sealed one flag on edges with a fabric mend in a tube that my wife had...looks like Elmer's glue. Sealed the other flag edges with a flat tip on my soldering iron. After a 70 mph blast this weekend, I'll let you know which one holds up better. ------------------ |
