Are they a problem when washing the car? Doesn't a lot of water get into the engine compartment? If it was a functional ram air scoop - wouldn't water get into the air filter?

Just curious.

Although I have neither, water on the engine isn't a bad thing. You have to clean it somehow! (Engine cleaner & a hose).

You get MORE water in the engine compartment and air filter area dricing in rain that by running a hose on the top of the engine.
