While I was at Deadwood, my low tire sensor started to act up. Since my warranty was to expire the week we returned, I took it to the dealer immediately. They ordered and got the new sensors under warranty. Well, I took it in this week to have the sensors changed. The car was supposed to be ready yesterday. When I went to pick it up, they didn't have the new sensors all done yet. This afternoon I went back figuring to pick up the car. It seems that they ruined both front wheels trying to break the bead to install the new sensors. They had to order me new wheels. The dealer is taking care of it at no charge, but I will be catless until the new wheels get here. ------------------ This message has been edited by Dave Mills on 08-08-2001 at 04:47 PM |

Well, Dave, at least they admitted they did it and are replacing them at their expense! Not fun being without the cat, is it? ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

Dave-they ruined BOTH of them? You would figure they would get a better plan after the first one was damaged. Too bad ------------------ |

Well Al, I guess they figured that since they didn't figure it out on the first wheel, they would try another one. They did both rear wheels with no problems though. ------------------ |

My new wheels arrived this morning but the technician that mounts them is off today. Assuming everything goes well, I should get my Cat back on Monday. ------------------ |

The tires were mounted today. Seems the technician sliced the left front tire while mounting. Now I have to wait for Goodyear to order in a tire for me. This is starting to try my patience! ------------------ This message has been edited by Dave Mills on 08-13-2001 at 04:26 PM |

Latest development....Dealer is looking for a tire. I want a Goodyear so that they all match. Technician tried to blame me for slicing my own tire....yeah right. Fortunately, the Service Manager came to my defense and they will replace the tire. Supposed to get the Cat back now some time next week if the tire comes in. ------------------ |

Newest development. The service department doesn't want the car there. They don't want the responsibility if it gets damaged. As of this morning my car is now sitting in the showroom waiting for a tire. ------------------ |

The dealer I bought my 99 from agreed to replace the two front rims. They were ordered and in a month showed up. I took them to a local PEP BOYS as I know most of the folks there and let them mount the tires. Great service, no problem and dealer paid me back for cost. These folks took their time, put a rag on the jack, looked and reviewed my service book before lifting my car off the ground. Call for tire pressure and checked the tire sensor before I left. Keep in mind they also had the best equiptment to do the work and had changed many large and wide rims. Just a thought to pass along. The dealer is not always the most experienced. |
