As noted from my previous post (my 1st one). . .I am a newbie here as well as being a newbie Prowler owner. Many of you mentioned the need for these mud flaps, and I was wondering where I might find these??? Thanks, Paul |

Go to your Chrysler dealer and order from the parts dept. The two fronts and two rears should cost about $65.00 or so. Alex ------------------ |

Does everyone recommend getting both front and back, or one of the other? |

Paul - IMO the fronts are a must. IT cuts down considerably on dirt and dings on side panels and doors. I've read others that have said the rear one keep water/dirt off the back bumpers, but I do not have them muself. FYI - be careful going over speedbumps with front flaps. Paul, get both. easy to install... Now, you'll have to ask whether to trim front pair. Seems it's a 50/50 split on that one... My fronts are trimmed about 1". ------------------ |

Paul, mud flaps on front are definite must. I have both fornt and back and glad that I do. You barely notice the ones in the back. Here are the part numbers: -Mud flap front #82203235 ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat! |

Paul I just ordered my rear ones today have the fronts already their a must. Also go to the body shop supply place and look at the clear 3m proctor strip for the bottom along the sides also, i'm putting it on to u can't even see it works great at keeping the rock chips off.. I've seen it on a few kats and it's vertually invisible. PK |

Get both front and back, as Laddie said, I agree. Put the front ones on and drive it, if you think they need trimming you can do so. I never trimmed mine and have no thoughts of doing so, I want full and maximum protection. True true true, avoid speed bumps unless you go over them at a hard angle, or flaps will hit. I agree. Flaps are a must. I haven't trimmed my fronts either. The rears do help some with splashing out the back of the cat also. ------------------ |

Okay. . .Thanks!!! I think I will order both the front and rear sets and get them on as soon as possible. Another quick question. I have a couple of cars myself, but I am thinking of driving the Prowler on a daily basis now. . .lol. . . I can't just leave it a home. Does anyone here use their car on a daily basis. . .just for cruz'n, or just for shows??? Thanks again for all of the help. |

I use mine almost every day I can. Once you start driving it everything else kind of sucks. IMO PK |

Paul - I drive my 2000 Black cat daily for several reasons - 7500 miles since May. 1. I don't have another vehicle. We can take my wife's Avalon if we need more room. 2. I like driving it so much, why leave it in the garage. 3. Other than perhaps the tires, it cost about the same to drive as any sedan or domestic car and probably less than my previous SUV. 4. Mainly - I LOVE DRIVING IT !!! But, that's just me. It would make some people crazy to risk dirt, rain, parking lots, etc on a daily basis. Just do what you feel like is my advise. Happy Prowling Marty

Marty, Thanks for the advice! I am driving mine everyday too. . . I can already see why I should change the brake pads. . .The front mags are getting black. What is the most common way of cleaning these cars? Handwash yourself. . .Professionally. . . Brushless Car Wash??? Is there a do's and don't's list to washing the car, wheels, top, etc ???? |

I hand wash my kat. I would be willing to bet that most of the board members also hand wash and would not think of having anyone else touch the kat. Alex ------------------ |

Mud? Rain? Bumpers? Fenders? Our cat avoids them, but otherwise goes out as much as possible, sometimes 5-6 trips a day. It likes getting hand-washed with loving care and would never go near a car wash. It also refuses to be parked unattended--it hates fingerprints and drool. ------------------ |

Paul......I drive mine every chance I get, every day!! Especially with the short season we have here (okay, guys, let's not start!).... no way it's staying in the garage. However, I do not take it out in the rain. It has only been rained on 3 times (ouch)! I always hand-wash (don't wash it much, just daily dusting and detailing keeps it clean and I have a black one), would NEVER take it to a car wash of any kind. |

I hand wash my Cat also. I don't think I would trust an automatic car wash and I'm not sure how much water would get in the car since my top leaks on the driver's side. ------------------ |

always a hand wash, even if I have to PAY for it... and mud flaps are SO needed, when I pick up my new Orange they will be on before I drive her anywhere! ------------------ |
