the MTA bus driver decided that he didn't have to yield to a yellow light turning red and plow on through the intersection - no matter that I was turning left. He wasn't going very fast (maybe 5mph) since he was stopped because of some emergency vehicles that went through the intersection just before I went out in it. Only gave the back passenger side of my Dakota a 2' long dent (along with a small portion of the bumper). I know the bus company is going to try and pin it on me because I was turning left... no matter that their driver shouldn't have even entered the intersection when the light was already yellow! At least I wasn't in the kat!!!!!!!! ------------------ |

That too - and anyone on the bus since they don't wear belts on them... but then again - he was hardly moving or else the damage would have been much worse and the risk of injury would have gone up too! ------------------ |

Cliff, anyone get a ticket? You do have to yield to oncoming traffic and he is allowed to enter an intersection under yellow, but not red. Of course I am rooting for you so don't take this to court with you. lol. It could have been a lot worse. Threaten to sue 'em, and then settle for damages. Tell them you know Sasquatch, OJ, The Dream Team and do it in that order. Just use the old "I was just getting over a VIRUS" as a last resort. I can re-send it if you need it as an ace in the hole. Well, if no one got a ticket the insurance companies can fight it out. You will come out the same either way, unless you have a high deductible. The main thing is you are fine, just inconvenienced and aggravated. That will go away the next time you go Prowling. |
