I just bought the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs for the kat but when I opened the hood, I'll be danged if I can find the plugs! Has anyone does this yet.....if so, can you give me some guidance. Are they under the intake? I don't see anything in the Tech Journal.

Hey now, you see the black boxes inbetween the intake runners??? Each of the 6 coils has two wires going to it in one plug on each. The cat has coil over plug so you just unplug the coil and remove the two torx bolts, pull the coil off and wa-la...............just like a hemi down there......

Gary,

Haven't gone for a ride yet....working on other things to get ready for a Cruise-in tonight. Idle seemed smoother but there were 23,000 miles on the original plugs. Will let you know later.

Thanks Mr. Fats for the S.P. removal tips and Ken for the needed subject. Just changed my stock spark plugs to the Bosch +4 and they seem to run crisp and responsive. R & R took about 20min. start to finish. I have not gone for a drive because of the Seattle like weather that has taken over Denver for the last 4 days. Gloom and drizzle! The only thing shining is the Orange Kat in the garage.

Thanks guys!

Gary,

I drove about 40 miles today and I can honestly say that the car ran better. Maybe it was because the original plugs had 23K on them. Whatever the reason, I'm very please with the difference. Much smoother idle and acceleration. Thanks to all for the tip on the plugs (no pun intended!)

Hey now, I'm fatter........I mean flattered to be able to help anyone. What gets me is that I have never been able to tell any difference in plugs other than I had a chevy II that would blow the centers right out of champion plugs. So I tend to stay away from that brand. Maybe I'll do some testing of my own. I am running NGK right now. Those plugs have like 4 tips, right??? so I guess there is no need to try to index them..................
