Terry,,,,,you might try asking for that dark blue color used on the early 2000's model Sebrings (2000-2001-2002+] vehicles,,,although it's name is different as I recall. I'm fairly sure it was the same color... Worth a try |

Terry, I looked your car over pretty well and didn't see the need. Did you pick something up on the way back to Moncton? |

i would ck further,a local paint store can tell you if they are the same,i personally doubt the formula is the same.they will need the color code not the part #.what is your color code.to get touchup youre better off going to a reputable bodyshop and have them mix you up a small amount in a touchup bottle.you want the basecoat and seperate clear coat.the aint store is they are any good may be able to mix you a small amount.mix the base and clear together equally othewise it wont have any shine.the paint store will tell you,you cant mix them but you can with no problems,i have been doing it for years. ------------------ This message has been edited by catfish on 08-31-2013 at 08:10 PM |

Terry, we are in Lancaster, Va, I think. So many states and provinces lately ay? Thanks to you I discovered that maritimers don't participate in ay. Larry, I am glad you are wrong about transmissions in Kentucky. Looked for awhile like KY might be a diversion. SW Florida sometime Monday I think |

Hello Joyride, I am not sure that is correct. I purchased some recently just to have from a dealership in town. The tube is labeled Mopar parts and has this number on it (04889751AA). Lacquer Touch-up paint. |

Terry, try this for Mulholland Touch Up. I bought this touch up paint at I believe Pep Boys to touch up a Mulholland Prowler Trailer I had and it matched perfectly. "Scratch Fix 2 in 1" Saphire Blue Pearl. I know it isn't the same color code as Prowler but it'll work. This message has been edited by 1buddyc on 09-01-2013 at 02:27 PM |

touchup,is acrylic lacquer, which tends to dry up faster than any other auto paint made. ------------------ This message has been edited by catfish on 09-01-2013 at 02:28 PM |

Has anyone ever used the Dr Colorchip products? I was looking at buying some for my orange and they have it listed on their website. Just wondering if it works. |

quote:Yes, I've used "Dr. ColorChip" on my OEM-paint, solid-color, "Prowler Red" 2000 Prowler. The damage that I tried to repair probably was caused by some ham-fisted mechanic at the otherwise trustworthy shop with which I normally do business (but in fairness, I can't prove that). Nonetheless, and more specifically, there was about a quarter-inch diameter chip to the underside of the driver's side, body-colored, headlight housing. The Good News: The paint supplied with the (not inexpensive) Dr. ColorChip product, much to my surprise essentially was a perfect match to the OEM, solid-colored, "Prowler Red", paint color for my 2000 Prowler. (However, I've no idea how well it would match a metallic-colored Prowler.) The Not-So-Good-News: What I found with this touch-up paint is that despite following its directions meticulously, the touch-up paint quickly would run down below the chip damage itself, and it was very difficult to correct that problem well. I assume this is attributable, in part, to the very curved shape of the underside of the driver's side, body-colored, headlight housing whose paint damage I'd unsuccessfully tried to repair with the Dr. ColorChip product. I'd expect this product to work much better on a flat, horizontal surface, than on one of the type I just mentioned. Unfortunately, when you think about it, there are precious few, flat, horizontal, surfaces on a Prowler --- unless one effectively creates such a horizoral surface either by tipping a Prowler on its side (which is not going to happen with mine), or one removes by oneself a vertically-oriented panel for touch-up painting (which also isn't going to happen with my car) . I eventually gave up on employing the Dr. ColorChip product, and had that unsightly chip on my Prowler repainted very nicely by my local body shop with which I've done business for at least 20 years. Much to my surprise, the color of the repainted Prowler headlight housing matches perfectly with the the remainder of my 2000 Prowler, even though the latter is now 13 years old. Said differently, I can't tell where the body shops's repair was made, even though I know where it was made. In hindsight, knowing what I know now, and were I able to turn back the clock and do this all over again, I would have simply gone to my long-time body shop in the first place, and saved myself some money, instead of purchasing and trying the Dr. ColorChip product. |

Just FYI...Here's another source for touch-up paint I came across. I have yet to try this site myself but they claim to carry the correct paint code for Prowler Orange. But I haven't had the need (yet/fingers crossed). http://www.automotivetouchup.com/ (update...I just noticed that this is the same product as offered @ TheProwlerstore under the touchup paint category) Scott This message has been edited by Scott99 on 10-05-2013 at 12:13 PM |
