For those of you who are tired of looking at the deteriorating grease covers on your vertical stabilizer links, here is an easy fix.

Made out of 1 1/2" ABS pipe and painted silver. They slide on snugly and snap in place. Cost is under $1.00 lol. If you want measurements, let me know.

I am beginning to think you should have changed your screen name to Innovator Kat.

That is simple and effective, keep up the good work.

I would like the measurements.
Are they hard to remove?
What was the paint code?
Where did you get the paint?
Is the pipe readily available somewhere?
Do you need gloves to keep from pinching yourself when installing or going back to stock?

I just saw this post for the first time.
This is a great way to solve the split boot problem.
There's no need to spend a bunch of money buying new links to fix this simple problem.

Thanks beachcat for taking the time to work on this and share it with our members.

Roger,

How about reposting this in the technical with a tilte something like "inexpensive split boot repair for vertical stabilizer links" so more people will see it.

I just found it and it is about 2 years old.
Nice job!

There probably isnt too many unsplit boots out there but this could possibly help prevent their splitting or at least prevent the leaching out of grease when they do split. I forgot about this and until recently had access to plenty of ABS/HDPE pipe free. This would be a nice item to take to meets to sell/pass out/install. One run of pipe can make several.
