We put on another fantastic Real Rod product this weekend. The Front Body Protector comes with rear and front brackets to secure the protectors to the frame. The front bracket is very simple to install since the u-bolts fit nicely over the front frame. My tip is on the rear bracket. It comes with two mounting bolts that are long enough to go through the support brackets that hold up the battery tray. I trimmed 3/4" off these bolts and just used the bottom hole of the support bracket thus allowing the original bolts to hold the battery tray to the support. Here is the process.

Front end before:

The kit from Real Rod (chromed by cnote):

Front bracket is easy. Slip the U bolts over the front frame between the horns. Easy.

For the rear bracket, remove the battery and the two anchor screws. Remove the clip nuts from the support underneath.

Underside:

By trimming the bolts down, you can use the bottom hole for the bracket and reattach the battery tray to the top hole.

Attach the protectors to the brackets and you have a very attractive and functional mod.

After:

Thank you Bob and Chris. Curbs don't scare me now!

XP stop at a parts store and get some 1/2 to 3/4 inch self adhesive flat body molding, cut about a 6 inch strip and stick it on, that way if you hit a curb it will tear up the molding and not the chrome. If you cant find any let me know I'll send some.

Thanks Bob. I ended up using self adhesive deck tread non-stick material. Works great. Thanks for the great product. Can't wait for the speaker box!

Looks great xp.. Cost of the front body protectors in the chrome? Im very interested. Did you have to buy them from Bob then send them to Cnote6 or did they come polished already?
