I've updated the the master list based on what I believe everyone has committed to. I show 118 cases committed for so far. With many expressing "double" my order, I want to be sure that this list reflects what each really wants to purchase. I don't want people to commit to a quantity only to back out latter. Please take a minute to review what I show for you. If its correct, I don't need to hear from you. If I've made a mistake, please PM or email me. Today is the last day to submit orders for purple and yellow. From here on, anyone wanting more cars will need select orange. |

I'll update the master list weekly. We're slowly moving toward the minimum. Warmer weather and shipment of the purple and orange are sure to trigger additional responses. |

No action in a week. With the purple and yellow shipping in mid-May when the order was placed February 2nd, this may not deliver until next year. Maisto's busy season is coming up. |

We are at 137. Would they do a run of less than 209? |

So far they will not accept less than 15K or 209 cases for a special color. They are working to match the cars to the DCX color master. |

No change for three weeks... Still holding at 137. So, how about we drop the idea of using EXACTLY the same DCX color and use a similar Dodge/ Chrysler orange (just not the exact color)? How many orders would be cancelled? Probably a few. I believe most of us are intending to give the cars away to kids, right? Does anyone really think these will be collectable? So, do we really care that it isn't the exact color? What do you all think? |

What is the minimum for a standard colour like white???? or whatever? Black? |

Maisto will accept orders for any color that they've already produced in quantities of 5,000 which is (70) cases. Not sure if they've ever painted white. There are a lot of whites available. CJ suggested that we start at the beginning of the colors Prowler was produced in. As this is the 10th anniversary, I started with purple and yellow. I offered the orange because I'd started that process last year when we did the deep candy red. If I do it next year, black and Prowler red would be the next colors. We might be able to squeeze in silver as we'd only need (70) each of black and red to place an order. I'm getting concerned by Maisto's price increases. No telling where they'll be next year. The increase from the first order to the second was almost 9%. The increase this year was almost 24% and they demanded another almost 9% to do the Prowler orange cars. The orange cars like the deep candy red cars last year are produced to match color masters provided by DaimlerChrysler. Maisto insisted on written permission from DCX before they agreed to produce these colors for POA. Dealing with Maisto hasn't been fun. They change their demands even after we have a price quote. During their slow season like now, our order which was placed February 2nd. won't arrive in the US until mid-May. I've explored all other alternative sources and they claim they can't match Maisto's price, even with the recent increases. One issue is that zinc is up over 300% from a year ago plus shipping has increased. I have streamlined my process cutting out every cost that I could think of to keep the delivered case price as reasonable as possible. Your sending me a check in payment for your order saves over 3% in PayPal fees helping to keep the cost down. I don't ask for payment until the cars are ready to arrive because of the long time delay between collecting orders and receiving the product. Think of what this effort has done. With the latest orders, we have purchased over 40,000 cars. Giving these cars away has made a LOT OF CHILDREN HAPPY and probably changed the minds of many people in regard to the people that own and drive a Prowler. I do this as a courtesy to fellow Prowler owners. A number of people that buy cars are not even POA members but they love their cars and want to share with the children there meet at shows, events and even in parking lots when out driving their cars. Probably more than everyone wants to know but I try to keep all of this project as transparent as possible. Every time that I financially commit to a purchase I'm concerned until the last check comes in. There isn't any room and CJ already purchases a lot of cars to help make this possible. |

Thanks for your efforts Bob, we really do appreciate it! Mattel has quoted me a price of 0.66 per car, including shipping, on our Dodge Charger Police cars, but they have not given me a decision on if they would do the orange Prowlers for us. I will keep you posted. ------------------ |
