On all the forums I attend, there is one Golden Rule: To bump a sale, the price has to drop. Even if it's just a smidge. Just saying..... |

The principle is one founded in Capitalism and market force. If an item continues to remain unsold and one needs to remind the market (which is not responding) it means the price is too high. Economics 101. So, to both keep forums clear of 'For Sale' posts that are not generating interest and test the market, a price drop is recommended. Buyers suddenly become watchful of the offering and hopefully an intersection of the sale and purchase come into alignment. Many forums consider bumping old posts poor etiquette since it assumes members can't find or assimilate what they've read. A price adjustment keeps interest alive and justifies the post. All IMHO, as seen by me, not meant to change old habits or be critical. But, worth thinking about? This message has been edited by ZuluProwler on 05-04-2020 at 07:39 AM |

Wife: I want you to sell the Prowler. Husband: I will list of for sale right now. Wife: Has Prowler sold yet? Husband: No, but I'm still trying. |

Zulu, some excellent points. But, there are NEW folks joining all the time so the ad is new to them. If you ask 40K and get it for 36K you think you got a deal. If you list it for 36 no one will be willing to pay 36. It is not my car or ad so I don't think it is my right to decide how it is managed. If you need the $ NOW it may have some affect on the decision making on it, also. Again none of my business. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 05-04-2020 at 09:25 PM |

Sorry, double post. I tried doing it on my phone and I did not get the usual response so I didn't think it worked the first time. I am new, give me some slack. lol This message has been edited by ed monahan on 05-04-2020 at 09:24 PM |
