from eBay ad: "PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FUNDS IN PLACE TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE - THE LAST TIME THE CAR WAS LISTED A "BUY IT NOW" BIDDER FAILED TO PAY. . I rarely view eBay ads,,,,how often does the above happen? |

So far not even one inquiry!!I know flames aren't everybody's taste and I know my miles are considered "high" but I thought at the price I've dropped to that I'd quickly find a buyer. LOL. |

quote: In answer to your question an Ebay seller cannot leave negative or neutral feedback for a buyer. No exceptions. It's positive or nothing. However a buyer may leave negative or neutral feedback for a seller. It used to be the same for both buyer and seller but that was changed years ago. Also with the sale of cars on Ebay it's quite common for the buyer to back out. Smaller, less expensive items usually not the case. |

quote: From what I understand, there is punishment that occurs when a vehicle is "Sold" and the bidder backs out. The person that posted the ad gets to pay Flea Bay a commission based on the "Sale Price" period. It's kinda backwards and is enough to keep me from listing anything there. So far I have only ever purchased items, never sold anything there. |

That is not correct. You can request a refund if the buyer backs out. You might get stuck with a listing fee but they would probably re-list it free. I THINK that is still how it works, it always used to be that way. I agree the feedback section is now basically useless. |

Ed has it right.....I was billed immediately after the "Buy It Now" was hit, but after contacting eBay they credited my account back. |

That looks like a good deal to me. It is surprising it hasn't sold, in my opinion. Of course, October is not the best month but if someone is serious about a good deal, it IS a good month to look. Good luck, hope it sells. |

See, my understanding was due to misinformation. I am glad the seller doesn't get stuck with a full fee but still having to pay the listing fee again sort of stinks especially when a buyer defaults like that. |

Andria, a lot of times they have a "free listing" period. I don't pay close enough attention to tell you how often that occurs since I don't sell much on eBay any longer. They have raised the fees considerably as far as the percentage over the years but you do have world wide coverage. Hopefully he got to re-list for free. If your item doesn't sell they re-list it automatically for free for two more attempts. They also tell you that you probably need to lower your starting price. I usually don't do that. |

Well into my eBay listing commitment and not a nibble of interest from anyone!! I'm baffled. I am now considering selling my hardtop separately if the car doesn't sell. It will be priced at $5,000 Canadian, pick up only, and will probably only be of possible interest to Ontario red Prowler owners, who would be looking at a comparable cost for a Prowler Store top, after paying the currency exchange, 13% tax, shipping, customs brokerage, paint, etc .My TGF top has a glass window compared to the plexiglass window in the other and also will come with a storage stand and cover. If there's any interest out there please let me know. |

In my opinion you have the car under priced. My experience has been that people perceive that to mean that something is wrong with the car. The old adage " If it looks to good to be true, it probably is" might be hurting you. |

I have bought 5 cars on eBay, 2 of them Prowlers. Your Prowler looks good and the price is very fair, but maybe the Canada location is keeping the buyers away. I myself would have been very tempted with your Prowler but also a little shy of the funds exchange etc. Having the car shipped through customs would be scary to me. I have been buying and selling on eBay for 15+ years now with a feedback rating of 4,144 positive 0 negative. I have only had a couple of bad deals and they were worked out buy the seller/buyer negotiation. I watch the Prowlers on eBay and actually very few sell, usually the sellers a little too high or they are inexperienced in how to list and show their car. |

I wish it was me. I think Eric took a beating on the price and I feel bad for him.It was not a good parting experience from the prowler world. I agree that being a Canadian car, in Canada is a hurdle. It really shrinks the market. Also, this could be an example of what flaming a car can do to resale. Again it really restricts the market. I know guys who love flames but would not have them on their own personal cars. Often their wife or partner will not like the flames or some might think it too attention getting on an already attention getting car.Eric's flames were not vinyl. They were the real thing so expensive to remove. This message has been edited by beachcat on 10-14-2014 at 04:48 PM |
