As posted in the Prowler discussion area, I am again offering my 1967 Firebird 400 for sale. Here it is again..... more pictures on Request and you can go here : http://classiccars.com/listing/108635.html Extremely rare with extremely rare options. All history and many extra parts. Some of you were very interested last time. The car appraised for $35,000 last Summer(2006). Was told if they would sell it (Mershons in Springfield Ohio) they could offer financing etc. and it would go for more but private party Value was $35,000. I have a firm offer for $32,500 from a friend who wants to buy it for his 15 year old. I DO not want it to go to someone who will destroy it. Call or emil if interested. john.buehrle@ugs.com Call if interested...... Owned since I was 19..... I'm 47. I will keep my Prowler. Love this car. 937-643-0658 John ------------------ 2001 Orange, Mopar Exhaust, MTD Intake, Front and Rear Mud Flaps, Chrome Shimmers, Orange Prowler Logo Valve Caps, Ceramic Brake Pads, Prowleronline.com License Bracket, Eric Wolf Chrome Trans Cover, Mopar Hitch and Trailer. Thanks Larry - Shelley is beautiful and a great wife so I think I'll keep her. Her keeping me is another story. Kat Hunter - I sent you emails and PM's - you should have all the data on the car. I am having a terribly hard time with this decision. I sold my 66 GTO three months ago and that was really hard (66 Tri-power 4 speed car - what a great car), Don't laugh - I sold my 68 Corvair with 22,000 miles on it. I loved that car. I now own the Bird, the Deville, my Orange Prowler and a Deep Sapphire Blue Viper. Shelley does not like the older cars. Why ? Because I am in the garage working on them far more than the Viper or the Prowler. I wash and wax those and that is about it. Bottom line is I could use the cash now too.... two in college, one in private high school and two in private grade school is killing me. So we made the decision to sell the old ones. I have only driven the bird about 100 miles this year. So after many emails between myself and Jim, He has convinced me and I have decided that for now I will keep my bird.....The Prowler will go first or the Viper if I get into that situation... I just have too many memories in it to let it go..... Like (1981)beating a 1970 Z28 and getting clocked at 110 MPH by the Police when I was 21 (lost my license for 6 months....) beating a 1970 455 Impala Convertible (1980) and then losing control of the car and ending up in a corn field..... Drum brakes do not stop well from whatever I was doing but the Speedo was buried.... absolutely dusting a Kawasaki KZ750 Bike (1980 or 81)from a 5 MPH Punch and having him almost run into the side of my car when the front of his bike went in the air and he came down with the wheel sideways..... (we stopped and chatted after that and he said ; " Man, you running jet fuel in that thing ? I work at the Airport and that thing smells like a jet..." I was running 108 AVGAS in it at the time) He also showed up at my house with the Motorcycle "tuned" up the next day because he said there was no way my car should have taken his bike - of course he was right but I didn't race him again..... I already won... Taking it to the drag strip when I was 19 (1979) - ran 14.1 at 110 best I remember.... I know the 14.1 is correct, not sure if it was 101 or 110 though.... should have kept the slips. This was on Radials.... has run 14.5's on Red Lines in 1990 at Texas moterplex...... And then there was the time racing my sister in her 1968 Dodge Monaco with a 383 in it that the cops caught both of us.......... Guess who cried and got out of it and guess who got the ticket ? Yep.....Oh well... to much to think about. I'm sleeping in the car this evening.... Best regards as always, John ------------------ 2001 Orange, Mopar Exhaust, MTD Intake, Front and Rear Mud Flaps, Chrome Shimmers, Orange Prowler Logo Valve Caps, Ceramic Brake Pads, Prowleronline.com License Bracket, Eric Wolf Chrome Trans Cover, Mopar Hitch and Trailer. You can always replace the wife ... ask a few of the more 'experienced' guys here ... they can be FAR worse headaches than these cars, no matter how old ... and just wait til a window regulator goes or trans problems act up ... then what ... Viper and Prowler axed?!? Here's a thought ... go into her closet and pick a few pairs of shoes or purses and tell her "they have got to go" that she spends too much time (or likely, not enough time) in them ... see what her reaction is! LOL When I had my 67 Camaro in HS my good buddy had a 67 Bird same exact color as yours with a 400 engine and tach hood ... those cars moved! Good choice in keeping it. Good luck! |

gadster, Agree - I am at peace (finally) with pairing down. I have and continue to be blessed. If I keep two, great, one, even better probably. But I have to have one. Charlie, You just gave me the same advice MeanGene did.... It makes good sense, Its just that the Viper and 2+2 are manual transmissions. We'll see... I'm kinda in the same boat you are. ...I feel badly I never answered your EMail last week.....there was alot going on here, but the truth is, I really didn't have an answer....I have bought 9 cars in the last 10 months....I just cant bring my self to sell anything anymore....I had to buy a bigger building to store them in....so, selling cars isn't something I like to think about ...my gut...dump the Viper...plenty out there if you want to replace it....Keep the BIG PONTIAC....man, I love that car and you can never replace it....Firebirds were never one of my favorites, I would let it go....the Kat, a keeper...keep one old car and one new... |

No problem Larry - I always appreciate your help. They are all cool and I won't be disappointed with anything that happens. If I had more time/money/storage I probably wouldn't sell any of them. But as I told someone yesterday, I have a friend of mine who has 26 cars. he is in his 70's. His Garage is unreal. But the cars mostly sit. I love to drive them, polish them, clean etc.... The 2+2 is close to the Viper on the fun to drive scale - tons or torque and a thumbs up at every light - everyone thinks it's a GTO until they notice how big it is. And that 421 emblem on the front fender is a give away. Barrier Blue is a one year only color and is beautiful. Here is a shot of the rear end - one of my favorites.... I just sold 8 cars a few years ago for a widow whose kids wanted nothing to do with their Dad's collection. When I asked his son why, he replied; "Cars were my dad's thing". That won't happen to me. ------------------ 2001 Orange, Mopar Exhaust, MTD Intake, Front and Rear Mud Flaps, Chrome Shimmers, Orange Prowler Logo Valve Caps, Ceramic Brake Pads, Prowleronline.com License Bracket, Eric Wolf Chrome Trans Cover, Mopar Hitch and Trailer.
