I think he is in Europe but the car is in the USA, hence the free shipping in USA ONLY. Maybe a good deal for someone. |

Sounds like a scam... What do you do? Wire someone money in Europe and then wait for a car to show up? As much as I would love a Mulholland, I would RUN from this one. The pictures look like a new car (sticker still in windshield?) I doubt this is a real deal and someone may get seriously burned. What do they say? If it sounds too good to be true..... ------------------ |

He has 53 good feedbacks and one bad feedback that he disputes. I am not vouching for him or the deal. I have no idea if it is legit. I sent him an email. No answer as of yet. |

There are independent companies that can check these out. If the car is legit then there has to be a way to move the funds through a third party. I paid $100 to have mine inspected and driven before any money changed hands. ------------------ |

I see these all the time in Europe where a seller is selling a 2003 Haley Davidson 100th Anniversary Screamin Eagle Deuce. I paid 26k for mine and they are selling one for 15k "buy it now" with 300 miles on it. After checking I was told by a US dealer that these guys never really want to sell you anything but rather want to snag your credit card info when you get pre-approved. I would be very careful..... |

He answered my email and said he and the car are in Italy. He bought the car new, for what all of that is worth. |

The guy selling the Harley wrote me back several times as well. He said he was from Finland... The AD stayed up for a couple of days and then when I went back to the link it was removed / invalid. This has happened at least 4 times recently on the Harley with the same pictures... |

It's a 3-day listing - most scammers use the 3-day listings so they can sell the car fast, get their funds and be gone with them before anyone figures out that it's not a real auction! When they listed Whealy's car it was a 3-day listing as well. Same thing happened when they stole my sister's ebay identity - they were listing new Harleys on 3-days - luckily they caught this guy and shut him down - he was also in Europe. Unfortunately he got her credit card info from ebay when he stole her identity and tried to charge up $6000 in one night in motorcycle parts on her American Express. Stay very far away from this one!!! JMO T This message has been edited by TFischer on 01-31-2004 at 06:45 PM |

quote: Blk/cat - I was thinking the same thing. Maybe one of our members who works at a DC dealership can run the VIN# to verify it's existence, and where the car was last serviced at. I don't expect any names to be given out,,,,don't want to get anyone in trouble. Tami - I agree,,,,this deal has a bad smell to it. Hate to see someone get ripped off. Maybe some of you that deal with eBay on a regular basis should notify them that this ad doesn't sound right. Car listed under market value with free shipping back to the U.S. Unless its Bill Gates on the other end of this deal,,,,,I wouldn't touch it. JMO |

eBay claims they cannot do anything until a theft has been committed. They will not tell you ANYTHING even on a spam trying to steal your password and Paypal account numbers. I guess they could get sued. |

these are the same deals that they run on quads they are always doing scams like these they are all over ebay usually if the price is too cheap and out of the country most are all scams. to get good feedback they just get a couple of there friends or set up different accounts to give good feedback to them to make the scam look more legitimate. |

The car is in Italy ???....in two of the pictures there is an American flag in the reflection of the garage door glass.....also there is a '70 'CUDA in the backgroud of one of the pix......Prowler and 'CUDA have matching dealer plates, they don't look familiar to me ......I figured all they wanted was your charge card numbers....looks like a scam to me....the vin is only 3 digits off the Mulholland I owned a few years ago.....mine was #3859, from Woodhouse.... Simple solution for something like this... offer to pay the fees involved and put the money in escrow. This means he gets the money ONLY when you get the car. ------------------ |
