Price reduced AGAIN!

First $47,900 takes car, buyer responsible for shipping.

That saves someone over $14K with upgrades!!

I have until next Wednesday to sell this car since I am moving. Instead of an ebay auction, I figured we would try one on prowleronline! Good way for existing Prowler owners to see what their Prowlers are worth in the eyes of other Prowler owners (with modifications of course). I will start this off at $34,000! I know for a fact that you can't find a Black 2000 Prowler with under a thousand miles for less than that. Thank God my Harley's retain there value, it's amazing how people dedicated to a product can help to maintain it's value. In a matter of time I will no longer be apart of this great spirited POA, one piece of parting advice. You all own cars that are unique and hard to come by, and of course, discontinued. Kelly Blue Book does not set the price for this car, the market does, and it is a very small market. POA members help to set the resale price of this car, you should be doing everything humanly possible to ensure that your car maintains it's value. Undercutting Prowler postings with prices that are in line with the current market conditions just hurts you in the long run. Anyone who owns a Harley can appreciate my point.

Starting POA auction price: $34,000K.

Car is located 20 minutes outside of San Fran, in Half Moon Bay. I am checking into my reserve station in Hawaii (Marines), then planning on spending some time with my Mother in Law (cancer), then back to my duty station. Only thing I will need is my Harley!

I have a great connection on shipping as well.

Mine is not for sale. It would take allot more than I have in it, to get me to part with it. I have it the way I want it. I would just have to start all over again. And aftermarket prices continue to climb. How's that for doing something to hold the value?
In my opinion the market is soft right now, because allot of people that are selling them, only purchased the Prowler as an investment and not because the wanted to enjoy the car. Now they have decided they no longer want to sit on them for what appears to some time before the can see a profit so they are cutting thier loses. Why else would there be so many very low mileage three and four year old Prowlers being sold. Not flaming and each to his own. As I said, just my opnion. This is a good deal for someone looking for peformance. Good Luck

The last thing you want is to buy a car that you would have to live with but not really what you want. I'll assume by your username that you are looking for a Yellow Prowler. I see them on ebay quite a bit. As other people on POA realize, $47,900 is a screaming deal on a Prowler with all these upgrades, it is a DOCUMENTED car with $20K in upgrades. Not only would I be shooting myself in the foot if I let if go for less, I would be decreasing the value of other Prowler owners who have spent money on upgrading there Kat. I saw two Yellow Prowlers for sale on autotrader.com, stock, both priced in the $30's - good luck.

May sound strange, but I would buy it if was stock. Is it just me or does the superchrger and NOS scare people away. It's like adopting an abused child...(jk) although less than 1k miles is nice!

Plenty of all show no go stock 156HP to the wheel Prowlers out there. Actually you wouldn't feel like you were abused until an Acura or Honda smoked you from light to light. Just my opinion - if you are going to own a car that is a throw back to the hotrod era, make sure that it runs like a hotrod.

Our pumpkin (2001 kat), would you believe she can read???? When she read about being abused , she asked me please, please, please abuse me. I would bet if they could buy your kat for a song, the first thing they would mentioned would be the mods, and all their friends would comment what a deal.

Hi James,
I feel your pain. I sold my 2000 black cat with 2400 miles on it last year for 30,000 (due to a divorce). I agree that your car is worth much more than the starting bid and if I had it I'd give it to ya. I'll bite! 34,000.00
Call me at 318-773-5998 if it's still for sale.
Thanks,
Kevin Huston

Hey all,
I just spoke to James on the phone about this prowler. Nice guy by the way. He said that 47,900 was the lowest he could go on the car. I guess I misread this post as I thought it was up for auction with a starting bid of 34,000. Sorry, my mistake

Thanks Doc,

Actually your read was right, I was planning on starting an auction on POA, but then came to the conclusion that losing $13K on a car in a month was as low as I could go. Well I guess there's a positive to all of this. Members of POA realize how important it is to maintain fair market value for a collector car like a KAT. This site literally controls the market for these cars and the POA members, for the most part, are very business minded, so the longer I sit on a Black 2000 with under a thousand miles, the higher in value it shall climb. Sorry to hear you lost your Kat in a divorce, I guess it's true what they say, cheaper to keeper........Once again, thanks for everyone's help and support with respect to selling this thing, I will post it again on Ebay and hope that there truly is a buyer for every seat.

Semper Fi!

James

James - I wish you luck on selling your car. If I had the money (read if I didn't just spend big bucks rebuilding my engine) your car would be great buy,

Doc- I knew you would be looking to replace your kat sooner or later. Hope you get another one soon.

Thanks Marty,
Replacing my cat has always been on my to do list as I truly loved the car. I did get to keep the Viper, but it needs a little buddy next to it in the garage. It will happen in due time. I'm never far from the board just not posting much these days. It was good to hear from you.
James, good luck on selling your cat.

First sorry for the reason you are selling and I honestly hope you get the price (if not more) then you want but,
the POA and it's members do not control the price of this car.

Assuming all 2500 registered members actively participate on this site, that is only 1/5 of the total cats out there.

1/5 can not control a market when 4/5's aren't playing by those rules. I think it safe to say all 2500 aren't still here so the number will be some degree lower.

Of those still here, I think it's obvious that some folks in here have sold their cars for a variety of reasons and may still participate on this board but, they no longer have a cat.

The value of these cars could be driven by the owners if all 12,000 were accounted for but, you'd still have folks selling for a variety of reasons (ie. babies, death, work, spouse, etc.) thta make dictating price impossible.

These cars are driven by market demand and interest. With dealers still having new 2000's, 2001's and 2002's out there (with some incredible deals and still sitting there) it is impossible for folks with used ones (even low mileage ones) to dictate the market.

Another factor is that the vehicle is not made any more. Now it seems that since they stopped production, that prices would soar but, 1) there is a reason they stopped production and 2) after stopping, values plummet for years.

Now that is not to say your cat won't be worth $60K again, someday, just don't expect it in the next 5-10 years

Another detractor is that these are toy cars. Yes, I know some folks drive them every day but, to most families that have kids and can only afford daily transporation, this is not even on the radar.

As far as your car goes, if the add ons aren't listed in NADA or KBB, they will bring little more to you car value.
I'm not knocking what you did to the car, it looks great but, when folks can buy an almost new 200 black with less then 1000 miles for $30K, why would they want to add on another $18K for those things? Granted, they may like them but, most banks probably wouldn't give a loan for $4K over sticker on a used almost 4 year (ie. banks go off blue book and add-ons listed in it).

IMO, and strictly MO, if you are serious about selling it, I'd remove as many items as you could and sell them here or on eBay and sell the car as stock as possible.

Whatever you chose to do, good luck to you!

When I was looking for a Prowler, I specifically was looking for one with low miles and upgrades and was not going to penalize the owner $$$$ for spending time and money to have them added on. Unfortunately none were around, trust me, someone out there is looking for this car, the lesson that I have learned is putting it on POA was a BAD IDEA. For those of you with kind and supportive words, THANK YOU! For the "experts" who just have to give their opinions on everything, just to hear themselves speak, well you know what they say about opinions.........

I'm officially off this site, if anyone reads this post in the future and is interested in the car, feel free to call me at 415 845 1471!
