Hey Gary,

This is exactly the same thing I was referring to with the SSR Owners. Have you and the East Coast Posse been doing maintenance days in the past for Prowler Owners in your area? That is so cool. Can you explain more ?

Thanks!

John

And how in the H E Double Toothpicks did I not ever see or know that he/they have been conducting these all those years? Not that far, really from my home. Maybe a little over 300 miles ? Anyone close by or remotely close by should participate.

Tunnel Vision is the only explanation I can think of.
I attended my first one even before I took possession of my Prowler....Now that I have sold it....They still welcome me.

John, like they say, it’s been going on since 2005 minus one Covid year. The first years we were up til 2am reheating pizza on the campfire, WildBill and Sirreal camping in the yard.
Fast forward and we sometimes push 10pm and what’s camping? Lol

Always a good time a something different going on.

I think Ed Monahan makes the farthest attendee yet, Gary or Andria will correct me if I’m wrong.

On one occasion, my Dad (JeraneW) attended the event.(2013)
He did not specifically drive from South Carolina to attend the event.
It happend to take place while he was visiting family locally, so he only traveled from Mount Airy MD to Fallston MD to attend.

The 2013 event was well attended.

I will plan on attending this year's event. Thanks for hosting it yet again.

Rod came one year, not sure if he is closer or farther then Ed. From what I remember, we have had members from Md., Pa., De., N.Y., Va., N.J., S.C. and Ohio. I'm old now, so I could be wrong about all this. LOL 🙀😃😇🙊

Super cool and exactly what I attended with the SSR owners. Not sure where my car will be in that time frame and I am seriously looking at a trailer for it for super long distances. We will see.

Andria, I think in the early days I was simply so busy with five kids etc.. I really never made it to many events that far from home and just now getting back into the Prowler "scene" and paying more attention ? Heck, I don't know but it's awesome Gary does this. Anyone else like out west, in the south etc. ?

John

Was doing the trip with the gang, but when it was canceled, I decided to head North to Canada and ride around for 12 days. Have a lot of small projects to do on prowler. Trans sensors, Serpentine belt, Tom Mills mud flaps, Stainless Steel nose protector. Wish it was another weekend. Love to meet more of the group. Enjoyed last year in Hanover with everyone. Maybe next time.

Are there any event details for this, I’m only an hour away and if work isn’t crazy I’m interested in showing up. I’ve never been before.

Cmon’ down! Route 1 to within 2 miles of the house. 1606 Watervale Road, Fallston, Md 21047.
Friday noon til whenever
Saturday all day

We’d love to have you. Best way to get to know other owners around the region.
We work on some cars when someone needs things done. We have done a lot over the years and share a bunch of knowledge. Cookout for lunch and maybe a cruise in later in the day or a short ride if time permits.

Hey John,
just noticed this, sorry. Yeah we have been doing this annually since 2005 I think except for 1 Covid year. We hang out, fix cars, take rides, cookout, partake in liquid refreshments and anything else for 2 days. In the old days WildBill would even camp out in the yard! We don’t last quite as long as we used to though, lol.

Rain or shine we always mange to have a good time. We can get three inside at a time. We are doing shocks on one Kat this weekend. Not sure what else is in the works.

You’re only a mere 8 hours away! 😂

No worries, Gary, looks like a great event and we should be doing more of these. These cars do have little quirky things and any work that can be done by knowledgeable folks is such a plus. The owners of these cars are really the draw, more on hat later. I celebrate 39 years of marriage tomorrow. we will be busy, thought my car was going to Indee this week but not yet. Have a few plans for this one. Have a great time!

Warning to anyone that goes to this maintenance event in the future, you will be spending money afterwards.

I went today and I have been shopping for a few parts and tools, since I have been home.

I had a good time meeting people and hanging out at this event. I will be looking at going next year.

This year's Maintenance Weekend yielded a respectable turnout. Some work got done as well as socializing.
Thanks to MD Prowler & Prowler Widow for hosting this event once again.

Even Non Mopar's were welcome.

Thanks to Gary and Tammy for hosting this another year.

We showed up a little late for work, but early for lunch, so worked out Great! 😁My Prowler missed the early photo's and I missed seeing Jeff and Betty Ann who came early and took off when they heard I was on the way.😂 LOL Early crew put me to work after lunch and the other Gary broke his car just to show us how to fix, what a guy!😎 We met some new members and some new old members and had a great time. Try to take advantage of coming to one of these events, the other Gary sure isn't getting any younger.👴

The technical long description would be:
1964 Chevrolet Corvair Greenbrier Deluxe 9 passenger Sports Wagon.

or...simply a Greenbrier.

Unfortunately for me, I won't be driving it in the foreseeable future due to a broken Clavicle I received Tuesday morning while driving my work van.

Someone chose to blow through a red light and likely totaled the work van and put me out of commission for a while.

I was headed the opposite direction. The impact stopped the van, I am told the rear wheels lifted off the pavement and the van did a 180.
I was told I was lucky it didn't roll over.

The side curtain air bags deployed but not the one on the steering wheel.

As you can see, the axle shaft was pulled out of the differential.

There were vehicles already stopped at the traffic light.
I was told, the driver moved into the left turn lane to proceed through the intersection.

Have you ever seen a steering wheel to shear off ?

There was a bus approaching the intersection that had video cameras on board so everything that happened was recorded.

There was another car crossing the intersection in the opposite direction that I was.
The front bumper of that car impacted the rear 1/4 behind the rear wheel of the one that ran the light.
I was told that this changed the direction of the car that ran the light enough that it did not hit the driver side door of my van.

Wow Andria! Sorry to hear this, but glad you still alive. It is crazy driving anymore. Witnessed this just the other day, light turned red, myself and car in other land stopped. Truck behind me decided light wasn't for him and went around me on the shoulder. Luckily he did not hit anyone coming through the light. Everyone seems to think traffic laws are just suggestions that don't pertain to them.
