Trey:
I have only been there once on Sunday about 10 years ago. It starts to break up in the early afternoon. To get on the "fun field" where we park it costs $35 or $40 for the whole event. They charge you the full price no matter how many days you are there.

TreyB,

Road Runner certainly ranks as one of Mopar's best-known names and most wanted models. Carlisle Events' give-away for July 12-14's All-Chrysler Nationals is no exception, the 1973 dark gray model is in pristine condition. A 318 ci V-8 was standard equipment on all '73s. And the motors featured a new EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system, electric choke and office spark advance. A total of 19,056 were produced with a factory price of $3,115.

You have the chance to win this 1973 Plymouth Road Runner! You must be present on Sunday, July 14, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. No purchase necessary to win.

I know for sure that Bill(Niteman)Stephens and I will be there for this!

Last year the winners in the Prowler class were:
R-38 Prowlers
1st: Knox, Jason - 2001 Prowler
2nd: Milazzo, Tony & Marie - 2000 Prowler
3rd: Tilden, Richard - 1999 Prowler

This is one of the best Mopar shows anywhere. We go every year (sans kat because we fly); it is definately worth the trip. Trey, even if you don't display the car try to get to the fairgrounds early Sunday and you will still have plenty to see. We usually spend the first day and a half looking at parts and vendors then late Sat and Sunday looking at the cars.

I just registered for the showfield. A few questions; I know the hotels are filling up quick. Is there a Holiday Inn in the area? What day is the car judging? I missed this last year and I am looking forward to meeting everyone this year.

Hey Larry! I hope you and Sue are well!!! We should have a pretty good turnout from the NJ Chapter. In fact I was planning on sending the info onto my contacts this past Saturday, but got tangled up with a Vette owner & have been busy ever since. Thanks for posting this MeanGene!!!
I will be going to the Carlisle show as well and have convinced my parents to bring their Gulfstream that sleeps 6 very comfortably. I will have to get two spots together since it will be too big to fit in the 20'x30' spaces & this way I can park the Kat there as well. I will also set up a three-(person) tent so there should be plenty of room for people who need a place to stay. Is there a way we can all get a strip of camping spots together? We can make a Prowler Alley... Obviously it is a dry camping area, but will there be water there for our use? Will there be fires allowed??? As much I love sitting around a campfire and swap Prowler stories while smoking a good cigar, I don't think I want the top and interior to smell like smoke. Has any body else camped there for a show before???

In total I will be bringing (3) people (1) Kat (1) Camper

I'm going to try and call tomorrow to find out more details on camping.

They also have 10 X 60 spaces, but it is too short for me. I have to find out what i can do.

I doubt they allow open fire, but I will ask.

guess i can stock up on candy bars thursday for the smores

NJSilver:
Sounds good to me! Time in drawing very near! I going to try to leave Friday sometime around 1:00 or so. Judging is on Saturday... This way we can enjoy the event, detail the cars and still hang out & have fun... I plan on having lots & lots!!! We should try to arrange a plan for people leaving on Sunday as well... We can discuss this at the Edison show this Sunday... Which reminds me... How do I get there??? Call me on the cell...

Trey- it will be great to see you there & we will be able to meet Keiko as well

What is Tilden going to do??? He won't be able to defend his title...

OK... Here it goes!

As far as camping... Larry, good call with you were right about the 10x60 spots... You can get two 10'x60' or two 20'x30' as well. You just have to pay $20 for each "unit" on it... You can leave your Kat out in the show field which has Security, but you are also allowed to leave with the Kat at the end of the day. I will park mine in the spot at night... I'm sure it would be alright, but don't want to take the chance. From what I understand, you can pack as much onto the spot as you wish, just as long as you have a the $20 sticker for it and as long as it will fit in the spot. I am trying to get a group of spots reserved for the POA... So we need to get a list together of who is camping. Last day to reserve a spot is June 21st, I would like to have the list together sooner than that. From what I understand, it is first come first served and you are stacked next to whom ever is behind you in line... I am expecting a call tomorrow about the reserved spots. If I can't get "Prowler Alley" worked out, we can try to meet all at the same time and cruise in together. The other idea is that maybe one person orders the spots (of course we will all pay for what we need & settle up) Then the first one who gets there, moves in & plays Mr Roarke from Fantasy Island... Of course we will need someone to play Tatu

Fires are only allowed in a grill or a contained pit, not supplied... No open fires are allowed.

It is a totally dry camping spot, but from what I am told, there are "very clean bathrooms & facilities" as well as concession stands located on the premises.

There will be an area to wash the Kats near the camping area... I am sure there will be long lines and you are asked to bring a bucket since PA is still in drought conditions... They might make it a requirement...

I guess we can all figure on a channel for everyone to be on, (handheld radio) so that we can all find each other as well.

WildBill

Larry- Looking forward to seeing you & Sue there!

I got a reply from Allen Kerchner (Dir) in regards to the POA group sites... What we need to do is get a list together of how many stickers (for each vehicle, tent etc) we need as well as the space sizes. We would have to work through one person to reserve the area as I thought would happen. He requested that I get the list together by the 21st which is next Friday... (I believe you have until this date to register your vehicles as well). Allen will contact me again on the 23rd and personally take care of our request... He said that he will be able to process the info on Monday the 24th... I would then be able to send out the camping tags as soon as I received them... Please email me at wildbill@ohiostatebuckeyes.com if you are interested.

From what I understand, the hotels are pretty full so this may be your only option. I can also bring along a tent in case it is needed... You will need a sticker to park your Kat at the camp sight at night in addition to your show registration fee or you will have to leave them in the show field at night which is patrolled by a security staff...

For the POA NJ Chapter Members... We have a Kat-a-Van heading out early Friday afternoon and I believe another will be set up for Saturday... Possibly one for Sunday... Contact me to let me know which days or days you will be there...
