to keep the bonk bonk bonk of the tire warming systems driving me nuts, can I just removal the modular off the inst. cluster. Would doing that cause other electrical gremlins to pop up, not passing emissions testing? |

You can just unplug it. Light and warning chime stops. I did it years ago with no issues. |

Hey guys, I tried disconnecting the module on my 2001. It did not kill the light which stayed on without the module in service. I'm on the hunt for a better solution that does not cost the earth. |

A small piece of black electrical tape works well. Just cover up the light. This message has been edited by LSK on 02-26-2020 at 03:14 PM |

I'm deep into a technical solution. I found a later (>2001) module for $50 and the sensors will be with me in a few days. I'm going to make a chamber (high pressure PVC) to pressurize the sensors and then have a tire shop do the programming. If that works, I'll consider putting them in my car. I had the dash off and it looked like the TPMS light was part of a module. Should have looked harder I guess. Pulling the light is a definite solution and my car has had a piece of tape over the light since I started my hunt for a module. |

Just to round off this post, my Viper module and 433MHz sensors are installed and working perfectly. When the replacement module was first installed, it caused the chime to activate until the first time it was driven. My old module did not chime and I simply plugged in the replacement. I have no idea how or why my original chime function was suppressed with the warning light still glowing. |

curious if the module is disconnected, the light stays on or the bulb removed; will the chime begin after xx number of on/off cycles, or after a certain period of time? thanks. |
