Ok guys , so I got the car back after having the new RAD installed and shes running without a problem. I ended up having to buy the $900 RAD from the prowler store due to the one I ordered on EBAY for $175.00 was the wrong one. But once I got the car back the Shop Ownr told me that with the new RAD it wouldn't allow him to keep the Thermostat on the car. When he would put it on , which was a brand new one he bought he said it would make the car still run hot. So I took his word and left. I drove around for the next 5 hours just to see if it would overheat but it never did. Why do you think it wouldn't keep cool with the TS and is the something that may cause a problem down the line?

There must be another issue. The car was designed to cool with the thermostat in place. The function of the thermostat is to allow the coolant in the engine to warm quickly. Open it offers some resistance to flow. There has to be another problem limiting or restricting coolant flow. Removing the thermostat appears to allow enough flow to keep the car cool.

Base on what you've said, it is a low issue that you're looking for. Don't know enough about your car or what has been done to give you a better suggestion.

Do you mean a radiator with plastic tanks can't be rodded out? The old radiator shops used to remove the top and bottom of an all metal radiator with a torch to gain access to the top and bottom of the radiator core. They used a rod to force though each tube of the radiator core to poke all the junk out. Those old shops then put the core in a vat of mild or not so mild acid and cook the radiator core and then back flush it to make sure each tube was clean. They would resolder the top and bottom back on the radiator and repair any leaks they found by pressure testing. Each radiator is suppose to flow a certain amount of water and they had equipment that could test the flow and compare it to a chart for that make and model of car. I am talking about all metal radiators.

Fast forward, modern cars have plastic tanks on each end and cannot be removed but a radiator shop can still dip a radiator in his vat of acid and backflush and flow test the flow on any radiator to my knowledge. Most radiators run around $200 dollars but with the price of a Prowler radiator I will be looking for that old radiator shop that still does the repair work if the radiator is repairable.

Last time I had one done they gave you a 30 day warranty on a repaired radiator and a year on a new one. I don't like to have one repaired because it keeps the car down for several days. You buy the new one, make the swap and you are done and a year warranty.

I would be looking for one of those old radiator shops if you can find one. Cooling system work is all they did, kind of like going to a doctor who is a specialist.
