Replacing lift arms on the hood, any particular thing I should look out for?

Or just a simple thing to do?

Thank you

It's pretty easy. Just be sure to prop up your hood with a stick before starting. The little plastic locking slider on the bottom attachment point should be facing up when finished. Otherwise it might open when you close the hood. That happened to me.

Jan, I bought from theprowlerstore didn't know anyone else makes them, besides Dealership, which I know are no good.

Where can I get those from?

THE OLD ONCES (FROM THE PROWELRSTORE) HOLD UP THE HOOD FOR THREE YEARS. WILL NOW SEE HOW THE LST WILL WORK.

I have had the LSTs on my Candy for 6 or 7 years, I think.
Before the Tulsa event, for sure.

My LST hood lift supports have been installed since the Louisville event in 2006 and still going strong. Before that I went through at least three sets of the OEM supports. We purchased our Kat new April 1999.

Easy, but I recommend a helper. I nearly scared by side panel because I had to lift corner of hood to put on slightly longer LST shocks. I was lucky the bar protected the side panel. I was lifting the hood on driver's side to put LST unit on and the passenger stock shock broke loose.

Open the hood to the normal height and then install a stick a little longer than that to hold the hood up. If you open the hood farther or further (?) than normal you should be able to do it without a problem.

If you happen to be working under the hood, the OEM hood struts surprisingly can collapse the hood onto you, regardless of how few miles you have on them. (Please don't ask how I discovered that.)

In contrast, the LST hood struts in my opinion are far more reliable and more sturdily constructed than replacement OEM hood struts.

As for the OEM hood struts being replaced with those from LST, yes, the installation of the LST hood struts is an easy job. However, I also recommend enlisting a helper to make the job easier. Doing so then took me maybe only 5 or 10 minutes, if that, to complete the job.

Enlisting a helper also can make installation safer, especially if the person whose assistance you've enlisted is more reliable and smarter than a stick.
