d'niro, Dean from Prowler Pro came on the scene first with these gears. You can refer to my Prowler Pro gear page install. There is a mixed controversy with Prowler Pro and G-Force gears but know the idea was conceived by Dean at Prowler Pro and then thru G-Force private contacts and resources a knock off was produced. The G-Force individuals will debate that competition is what America is all about but being that Prowler performance vendors are few, the way G-Force gears were brought onto the scene violated all professional and moral business tactics. Dean at Prowler Pro had or was doing a lawsuit against the responsible individuals who drove this initiative. There is background debate that the individuals responsible for producing the G-Force Gears should not sell those on the POA period due to the way they introduced and managed their marketing strategy on the POA. You now have both Prowler Pro and G-Force gear owners so this topic will always be a heated debate due to the fan base for both the original Prowler Pro gear and the knock off G-Force gear. Later... |

Just a little side note here. Were it not for Tony Goertz and his G-Force Gears,,,everyone would STILL be paying $2400.00 to get a set of gears. Knock off. That's funny. ------------------ This message has been edited by Larry Lord on 01-09-2008 at 06:57 PM |

Tom aka Snoman, No you did not get it straight. So sorry you were unable to understand what I was talking about on my post. I know you have been here long enough to know what went down on the gears? The ones who have been here since 1999 know the truth especially Mr. Lord but I know I'm just pushing more buttons. There is no correct way of posting these topics because it will always be incorrect. I guess the objective here is an eye for an eye so no viable solution will ever be found to these posting wars. I understand thought how it works... You stick to who you have developed relationships with and protect them. Later.. |

Tom, You know what would be a cool site, a site that would spell out the real truth about all these posting wars at all levels. Kinda like snoops. This way we could reference this site and find out who was lying their face off and who was actually being truthful. Alot of this craziness would be put to rest. Nah, now that I think about it, it would not... It is all about the controversy. It would be a very cool site though!! Later.. |

Both work great, there is NO debate on that, i personally have Deans Prowler Pro Gears. They ARE NOT Identical ! ProwlerPro is approx 27% higher than factory final drive and has better torque , really kicks in 2nd gear torque I believe that Tonys is 24% not much diff there. There is a diff in size of the chain Width stock (2chains)= 1.25" deans ( one chain)= 1.75" (result 40% more contact area) Tonys (1 chain as well) = 1.5" The drive and the driven gears have different # of teeth on the gears: Deans : 25/drive(smaller Gear) , and 35/driven (lg gear) Tonys : 22 drive .............., and 30 " ** what that corresponds to is increased torque and better surface area. Where they differ as well is the shift points compared to stock. I am not replying on any debate of copy, there differences truly come out in the specs..... But,... will you feel the diff? i dont know, but by specs alone Deans are better, but Again, Both are constructed well and Both have higher tensile strength than stock , and you will SEE/ feel the diff than stock on both of them as well as rpms I hope this clarifys things a bit for you Nic Rich This message has been edited by RADCAT RICH on 01-10-2008 at 01:59 PM |

I also am staying away from the politics of this issue. However here is the info on Tony's Stage-I gears when they were offered back on August 18, 2003. The specs differ from what is posted above. I believe the specs posted above are from the Stage-II gears offered by Tony. Just trying to help keep the facts straight. It appears new ones being offered now are the same Stage-I gears. These are the gears installed in our Kat (installed August 2003 at the Smokies by Tony @ no charge). At the time the cost (what I could afford) was the major factor in which gears I purchased. From August 2003 Details: Stock Prowler has a 31 tooth (drive) and 34 tooth (driven) gear set. This is a 1.09:1 ratio G-Force performance gears have a 39 tooth (drive) and 28 tooth (driven). This is a 1.4:1 ratio Net effect is a final drive ratio which is 27 % higher than factory. G-Force performance gears are 1-3/4 " wide with a single OEM chain. Shift points will be at a 27 % lower speed with no change in engine rpm. Engine rpm at any given speed will be 27 % higher with G-Force gears installed. Installation instructions and electronic speedometer adapter documentation included Also at that time Tony stated the following. We continue to offer the Stage-II Performance gears as "High Output" gears for engines with increased HP , Superchargers and/or NOS systems I believe these Stage-II gears were the 24% higher than factory and they were higher priced.
G-Force Stage-II Performance Gears have been released. Stage-II gears provide a 24% change in final drive ratio. (27% on previous gear sets) For 1/4 mile runs, this means your car will NOT want to shift out of 3rd until farther down the track. This message has been edited by BeWare on 01-10-2008 at 03:45 PM |

I guess that clears up any question that Tony did NOT copy Dean's gears since they are not the same. I wonder if Tony did a tremendous amount of R & D ? |

I didn't mean to open a sour topic, I understand the American way of business - I'm one consumer that just happened to own a Prowler (which I very much love) and want to improve its looks and performance with the best mod items I can find and afford. Dpena I understand and thank you for your input - Radact Rich, you gave me information I previously did not have and I thank you for your input - My feelings are "if an item will give me what I'm looking for - then the cost is basically irrelevant - just because something cost more does not necessary mean its a better item and cheaper doesn't mean second place. I thank all of you for your input. Nic |

If you do a search using G-Force gears as the key words, there are quite a few topics on this subject from the past. Do some reading and make your own decision. From what the information out there says......Borg Warner was the OEM mfg. of the gears......Chrysler used their gears for their vehicles, including Prowler, so they were involved in the testing and R&D also for the gears they were going to use on their vehicles. Both Prowler Pro and G-Force used those gears for their versions?? Here is just one of the responses from one of the threads...
