I have a "metal" sounding squeak coming from the drivers side suspension area.

3 total trips to service depts between 2 dealerships and the thing is still making noise.
They lubed everything that they could today and still I heard it on the way home.

It seems to be a more frequent sound over the last few weeks. I can reproduce the sound by bouncing the drivers side, so I guess I'll be looking into that over the weekend before I bring it BACK to the dealer again on Tuesday.

Any suggestions?

I'm hoping to bring the Kat to WI for our lunch and cruise on Sunday but if it keeps up I dont think I want to drive the prowler.

See if all the bolts and nuts are tight on the braces that run at an angle from underneath the transmission outward towards the frame just near the front of the rear tires.

These are the braces I am so poorly referring to.

Sheeesh ... any excuse not to drive your car ... starting to sound like a grumpy complainer ... kinda like, well, Ed!

Turn up the radio and don't worry about it

Thanks guys, I'll check out those other squeak prone areas.
Its very possible the sound is throwing itself from under the car and just sounds like its coming from the drivers side.

Mine had the same thing a couple of years ago - sounded like it was coming from under the car. Bought some heavy white grease and greased the hood hinges, that took care of the problem. Good luck. T

Guess we'll all get to see the rare epic saga of brokeback prowler with Red riding shotgun to Meandmykitty ... cum on Jess ... hey, if something does break, then at least you'll know where the squeak was coming from!

Guess I'll have to agree with Ray on this one. If its been in three times and they can't find the problem, drive it till it breaks.

will be taking the trailblazer to ricks and then riding shotgun with him.....please pray for me ahead of time.

You all can drive your cars cross country with squeaks and rattles if you want. I'll get mine fixed rather than break down in WI and have some stupid part take 2 months to arrive.

All cars have some squeak or rattle ... remember that fine air patrol you had on during Woodward?!? Arrrgh! But you still drove it ... As for prayers, you'ld get more for driving your Kat than for choosing to put your life in jeopardy with Rick behind the wheel!

Whats the word on the Black Tie?

Took mine into the dealer today for the tierod. They
ordered whole new steering rack and claim it will be covered under warranty. I've got a couple of months left under the 3/36 warranty. Might take a couple of weeks for the rack to get here.

I'm waiting on new front shocks, an ac belt and ac condenser.

I took the kat back from the dealership until the parts arrive......I dont need the porter driving a Jeep into it while its there.

edit- the new front shocks came in...nice looking koni's
each side was only $42. I thought for that price it would only be shocks, but it was the complete coilover.
