IN A RECENT POST I STATED MY FRONT SHOCK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE JUST BROKE IN HALF I SAW IT WHEN CLEANING UNDER THE HOOD...SO MY QUESTION IS.. I HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY COVERED IT BUT, I DONT THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY THE $100 DEDUCTIBLE SO I AM IN THE MOOD FOR A FIGHT SO WHERE DO I START? IT NEVER LEAKED OR ANYTHING IT WAS FINE WHEN IT CAME OUT OF STORAGE BUT A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO I WAS CLEANING AND LOOKED DOWN IT WAS SNAPPED IN HALF THE COIL WAS LAYING CLEAR UP ON THE FRAME. SO WHO SHOULD I CONTACT TO GET THINGS ROLLING? THANKS |

Nikki - since it was covered under your extended warranty,,,,whether you had $0, $50, or $100 deductible,,,,it was covered as per your agreement in that specific plan. IMO, you don't have a case and would be wasting your time,,,sorry. |

Nikki, I have to agree with alley cat. If you have a good relationship with the dealer, you could have the service manager contact the district manager and ask to have the deductable waived. If there was any repair history while the vehicle was under the factory warranty relating to the shock, they just might waive it. Other than that, I would not waste your time holding on chryslers 800 # complaint line. chris |

Be careful how hard you push, they can or will claim that a shock is a wear item. |

I agree with st0rm....be careful. Tires, shocks, hoses, brakes, clutches, wiper blades, filters (all types) are classifed as normal wear and tear items. You were fortunate that they covered the shock at all! |

I understand to workings of warranties & the meaning of normal wear & tear. BUT JUST WHAT THE HELL IS NORMAL WEAR & TEAR ON A LOW MILEAGE PROWLER. Many with way under 10k miles on them having the same problems???? shocks, hood struts, alternator pulleys, window regulators ETC. Toys |

This is a copy of that Post. If this was your Orange Prowler you might you want to go back to the dealer and ask why they only changed out one shock for you. I think they should have at least Matched up your shocks, Not sure how much of a handling or ride issue this is? But Having One suspension dynamics shock and one Koni shock?????????.
