Help! How do you remove the inside door panels? I need to remove mine to replace the passenger side mirror that was damaged when I hit that turkey buzzard in North Carolina. Thanks.

This is from Cat-A-Tonic on a post I did on upgrading speakers."OK,heres the deal. I've had my door panel off several times and the hardest part to get off is the bezel around the door handle and lock. It must be taken off per factory service manual or you will most likely break the retaining fingers and have to order new ones."
And from Lynnpt01 "You will probably break the panel clips when removing the panel. They can be purchased at AutoZone.
Take the screws out of the panel and the place where you pull the door shut from the inside. Pull the bottom of the panel away from the door and slide it toward the rear of the car. After working at it a little it should lift up and off. Don;t forget the window and lock switches. DO NOT PULL THE PANEL OUT VERY FAR FROM THE DOOR BEFORE SLIDING TO THE REAR YOU MAY CAUSE DAMAGE"

LIFT PNL AWAY FROM DR.AND LIFT UP TO RELEASE AT GLASS.TO GET HANDLE BEZEL OF ITS ACTUALLY VERY EASY, AND THIS IS BEFORE YOU UNSNAP PNL.PUT A LITTLE OUTWARD PRESSURE ON FRT. EGDE AND SLIDE BACKWARDS.WHEN REINSTALLING PNL.THERE IS A
ALIGNMENT PIN ON PNL AT REAR TOP MAKE SURE ALL IS ALIGNED AND TAP PNL AT EACH RETAINER TO MAKE SURE ITS ALL THE WAY IN.

Skuter - or you can do it like the upholstery guy tried to do on mine. Just pry it and yank!! It came off but cost the shop more to buy the pieces to repair it than I paid to cover the door panels.
