I am in the market for a 4 post lift and am looking for recommendations.

I have a 3 car, 36x30 garage with 10' ceilings, so I think space, height wise, I'm good.

I would like to be able to put the prowler on it for storage, but also an F-150 SCrew on occasion.

All input appreciated.

Thanks
Joe

Have a CyTech double park, they are out of business

Needed to put 2 in air, bought an Advantage side by side

So 2 in air, 2 under.

About 17’ x 17’ floor. Space & 10,000 lift capacity with open center

It has worked out great

They have single 4 post, 2 post & this side by side in several different capacities

Was easy to deal with

With 10' ceiling you should have no problem putting Prowler on top for storage or maintenance. You should be able to put a car under Prowler with no problem. I don't think the F150 will fit under Prowler and for F150 maintenance, you will be able to lift it to get under, but not high enough to stand under.

On a side note, I think the car on the lift tends to be used less because it more trouble to get it down. You have to move whatever is underneath, move top car out, unless you want to leave bottom car outside, you have to put back in and do reverse when you come home. Larry's double lift is great for storage, but you your using cars regularly, you have to move two cars out to get one down, then 2 cars back in or leave both outside and move back in later. If you put them back inside, you have to move both out and in again. In one of my garages I have 2 wide and 2 deep and I end up not using the back 2 as much as I should.

I agree with Gary 100%. I have a 10 foot ceiling, but garage door restricts how high the top vehicle can go by approximately 8 inches. The SSR will not fit under the Prowler or Mustang.

Mine is used for winter storage

I have room in summer for cars all on ground, needed the double for winter storage

Yes would be a real PIA if only room for the cars on & under load lift

But it can be used as mezzanine for just about anything & plenty of room for 2 cars under

So you asked about lifts and I researched them extensively before deciding on the Advantage Lifts for two cars, and the Backyard Buddy for my smaller, lighter cars. Both from Advantage Lifts. BYB is still built in the states which I liked. The Advantage lift is in my opinion, the best 4 post lift you can buy, warranty etc. I also looked at Wildfire Lifts and they are good too. Advantage and Backyard Buddy lifts have double locks so that if the cable fails, a lock stop fails etc, the lift won't drop. Important.
http://www.advantagelifts.com/

Call me or PM me if you wish, some of the cool features on the Advantage lift, are now on the BYB.

I'll send pics, but I opened the ceiling of my garage to lift the cars and be able to get the SSR or any two older tall cars in. I also raised the garage Door so it is only about 9" from the ceiling so the cars have much more clearance.

Here is a critical piece for you. Measure the height of the cars, know the height of each stop point on the lifts. Know how thick the ramps are. I know which cars can go where and in some cases, it a quarter or a half an inch! BYB and Advantage also offer stops that allow you to get the lift up another inch without having to go to the next stop. A life Saver for me. http://www.advantagelifts.com/products/lock-extensions. They are Cool. BUT BE CAREFUL. If you drop the lift on these while the locks are in the down position, you can screw these up. And of course, I have.

Lots to consider on a lift, but I LOVE my advantage lifts and the BYB is nice too. Right after I purchased the BYB, they added the upgrades. My luck.

Good Luck,

John

You can see the 1 foot box I built into the ceiling. Also, see the big door is raised to be about 9" off the ceiling it's very close.

Larry your lift would be great for Prowler trailer or trailers as some have more then one, if you didn't have room on floor.

Gabe, still like that Mustang, looks great. If the Prowler is on top does it give you a little more height under lift?

My lift is only 84" between post, Challenger mirrors only have a couple inches on each side and my truck I have to pull both mirrors in to get on lift. If I ever buy another lift, it will be 96" between post. Gabe's lift looks like it's 96" .

John, I was going to post to call you because you just did the research. I have a BYB also and like the double lock feature also.

Gary,
I have the lift marked at the max lift height for the Mustang and use that mark for the Prowler and Thunderbird. This ensures the door clears the cars and I don’t do anything stupid.
