That is a serious rift. I am shocked that Chrysler provides financial support to an owner's club.

Chrysler doesn't provide financial support anymore to the club. That is when all these FOR profit changes started happening.

The club needed to stand on it's own after the Chrysler BK. Viper parts of America was born. A licensed Mopar parts operation that was supposed to help fund the Viper club events. A past National president... Suddenly was running that for profit business. With no income coming back to the club as it was supposed to.

The 3 main players in charge, systematically started changing the way advertising was done on the forums. Who could post where... Paying vendors could no longer jump into a posted question in the forum and offer a solution to the OP. There was a special vendor area they had to post in. A member couldn't even post a link to something cool on eBay... Cars, parts nada... All in an effort to protect the Viper Parts of America.

There was forum censorship on a massive scale. They started banning people who have been long time members of the Club... Hell one of them even helped start the club! All because he owned a Viper parts business... Granted he did something kinda douchy... He was reprimanded... all parties apologized... He was banned for a year, AFTER they took his $6k for advertising.. after the year was up, they came up with another reason to extend the ban for another 3 years! Crazy stuff... You couldn't even mention this Vendors name in a post. The post would immediately get removed.

If a member asked a question of the BOD's anything financial, or even "where did my post go?" you would be put on "Moderated status" all of your posts had to be approved before being posted. Threads were closed... or even disappear. If the member continued to question.. They were banned...

Theres so much more than what I can even type here... but the bottom line... Members are pissed, and have been (rightfully so IMHO) for sometime... They want the BOD to step down... set up new bylaws and have financial transparency.

If this is all for the best of the club, as the BOD says it is... Then they should really step aside... Time will only tell if this will happen though... They are spinning so hard to find a way to stay on top of a non-profit that brings in $1M+ per year.

I didn't join for the last 2 years because of the antics of the people in charge of the club/forum.

I believe that if they resign the club can go back to being the fantastic club it once was. It used to be the best car club. It can be that again.

Autoblog, All-par and of course Jalopnik all have the story now...

Jalopnik has taken the story a step further and has posted some email responses...

Kind of makes you appreciate what Mike and Judy do for Prowler owners. THANK YOU! Despite the voluntary contributions, I'm sure that they have had to dig deep every year since we started to keep this alive. Again, THANK YOU!

The biggest complaint that I hear about POA is that we don't have active moderators.

I've read most of the items posted regarding the VCA. I'm sure that I recognize one individual providing the insight. I can tell you that he was there from the beginning. He's isn't one to make unfounded comments and I hold him in the absolute highest regard. Based on that, I'm confident that there will be much more to this story.

There already is much much more to the story RPL...

There is supposed to be a 2013 Viper GTS raffle on the 30th. The drawing location was set for the Woodhouse dealership... They sold out all the tickets. Now the legality of the raffle is in question. There's no lic # on the tickets... as stated in both Michigan and Nebraska raffle rules... Woodhouse is walking away from the drawing... rightly so...

It may not be a legal raffle... Heads have to roll for this... It's inexcusable...

I really hope someone with the power steps in and stops this crazyness... Boot the clowns and reset the entire club. It used to be "come for the car, stay for the friends"... we really need to get back to that...

I'd love to hear what owner that also have a Prowler have to say about the situation. I believe that Randall - Dayton Prowler might have some insight.

Randall is on the board... He is the current National VP...

There are some letters floating around supposedly authored by Randall. If I find one again that has been publically posted I will re-post here.

He's probably in too deep right now to post here himself.

No raffle happened this morning. Someone from one of the "other" forums had this to say.

Since we haven't heard anything about the raffle, I called the Nebraska Lottery Commission a few minutes ago to see what the deal is.

The guy who has been dealing with the VCA on the raffle informed me that since this is an unlicensed activity in Nebraska, the VCA cannot hold a raffle in Nebraska.

He recommended to the VCA representative to whom he talked that the VCA get a license in another state.

Bottom Line: No Raffle in Nebraska Today ...

I just checked the National site... There is no mention of the raffle...

If they have to go back to MI for a License as they used get thru the MCVO. I would imagine that they would have to reprint the ticket stubs with the correct info. Mail them out with a live location & date where the drawing is to be held. Before they could actually draw a ticket for the winner... That is IF the MCVO wants to have anything to do with this ....

AND if the people who bought tickets would even want to stay in! This is a big cluster ....

WOW the National President says that the raffle is complete, stand by as they contact the winners. This was posted in the members only section. Guess they got licensed in a day...

I am anxious to hear what Randall Arnold (from Dayton) the Nat'l VP has to say. He is also a Prowler owner and post on here fairly often. He is a straight up guy and can be trusted with what he has to say.

I met Randall at the Mopar Nats in Columbus. We were the only Prowlers there. Seems like a real stand up guy. He said that the Dayton Viper group would like to see more Prowlers there next year. That was one of the best events ever for me. Had a blast. Lets get some Prowlers there next year.

Last official sounding thing I heard about change was from the 28th. The Raffle happened it took about 24 hours to finally name the winners. There wasn't a mention of where it was held.. I have heard a small state in New England... LOL The current President is from MD... so maybe that is where the lottery was pulled.

I have also heard Mr President is resisting the movement to step down. Even though a poll on the VCA site had something like 91% wanting him to go.

I guess we are in for more "Change we can believe in"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All-
I can’t get into specifics, as the affected parties don’t even know yet. But the board met last night for 4 hours, and are meeting again Thursday (and probably over the weekend) to make some changes.
Last night we made pretty dramatic, decisive, and unprecedented changes in the club structure, and by the end of the week, you will see some huge alterations…
So patience please, things are moving in the right direction, so the discussion of “seceding” is thankfully unwarranted at this point…
<snip>
Thanks all!!
President, North Central Texas VCA
