My wife and I visited Phil and Kathy yesterday afternoon. I am happy to say he is doing quite well considering what he experienced. He is getting around well and his speech has improved very much. He had a big scare and now needs to make some big changes in his life to improve his health. I know he thanks everyone for their prayers and love over the past few days. Phil now needs to listen to his doctors and he will then continue to be around to provide the wisdom and help as he has done in the past. We love you Phil. |

I want to thank everyone for the well wishes. Strokes are not good to have, Doc blames the stroke on the past 4 surgeries I have had in the last 5 years. 3 on my back and one to replace an artery in my neck. A small piece of plaque broke loose somewhere inside and found its way to the base of the brain which caused the stroke. I am very lucky as the doc says that it didn't go to the lungs as it would have been fatal. Have most of my movements back, and doc says a few months I will be back to normal. Again, thank you for all the well wishes. Always keep an eye out for anytime you may feel tired or weak, Strokes are not always easy to determine. I only had one symptom and that was the sagging right side of my face. Raising both arms or sticking your tongue out are not always reliable, at least in my case. The bad part of this whole ordeal was I was in the ER a week before this happened with a BP of 226 over 105. After laying in the ER all day , my BR went back down to normal and they sent me home. They did a brain scan and it came out great. Always request an MRI as that will show damage. By the way the new diet is terrible with a no salt diet. |
