Hey POA... I'm hoping I have found for us a replacement push rod/rocker arm bushing for the one that fails on all Prowlers. Mopar OEM is near $300 for EACH and as we know ONLY last a few thousand miles... Robin has a creative fix with adding a custom thick rubber washer which I believe may work and use on my driver side but my passenger side is completely shot and forced me to search for an alternative.
That said, and as there are greater minds out there on Prowlers then me I'm just sending this along for a "Possible replacement part" (I have order 2)
If you google: X-Axis Sealed Flex Joint 15639 you will find what looks like something that may work... Specs are exact as I measured mine while removed from the Rocker arm... Our specs for the bushing is 40mm diameter x 40mm length x 40mm inner diameter... Check out the pics and the specs on the X-Axis 15639... They are exact and have seen them as low as $27!!!! There is also some confidence on the part as they are also used in Nissan & Infinity Rocker Arms to my knowledge...
Maybe I'm off "My Rocker" but thought I'd share as a possible solution...
Thanks
Rich

Nice find Rich....
I hope these fit looks like they will.

Just in time too I was getting a lot attention from animal welfare groups.
Even though I never took all four from the same cow they still would get upset....

No worries Robin... With the number of people you have helped, I will take up a collection to get you bailed out should it come to that... I'm sure the cows are breathing a bit easier up north today...

As far as an update on these when they arrive, I will post some pics and my opinion on them. This site and the members who make it up are the very best and if this works out, its the least I could do for POA members... I've been helped by POA members from day 1 and its not forgotten or ever taken for granted...

As far as this part, I'm very hopeful it works out as this is a huge problematic part that dates back to 2001 with tons of posts with no solution.

As an FYI.. When you order the part it comes up as a special order (IE: not stocked) I ordered 1 set from After Market Suspension parts and another set off of Amazon... Both places came up as available but special order (3 weeks est. on delivery) so my update will take a bit of time.

More to follow and happy 2017 to the POA (Best car site in the history of time)
Thanks
Rich

It WORKED!!! Pressed like an OEM part and fit is perfect...I live in PA so the Kat is sleeping for the winter and although this is not road tested I can tell the issue is solved. You can order it right from the company that supplies them SPC (Specialty Products Company)
I Strongly recommend also buying their press tool # 29606 $20.00 as its a perfect fit for the joint and will not damage the rubber boot.

The joint itself has a wider stance, double pleated boot for flexibility, enhanced rust resistance with nickle plated core. Best of all... The rubber boot is replaceable without having to remove the Rocker Arm should it fail (IE: life time part).

Here are a few pics.... Issue is solved

I deleted my Hyperflex post because I was told the parts don't fit the Prowler very well, buyer beware.

I noticed in the image above the outer part is much wider than the original part looking like it has a much larger bearing surface and hopefully improving the life of the part.

Hi Rich, thank you so very much for going the extra mile and having the ability for coming up with a fix for what seems to be a significant problem for everyone who owns a Prowler. Since I'm not much of a mechanic I have a couple questions. I assume I need to buy two of the bushings so I have one for each side plus the press tool you suggested. Do I also need to buy two of the 29606 part since it looks like the 15639 part slides inside of it. I apologize for being so mechanically inept but I'd rather ask then to not have everything I need when I take it to get it repaired. Jer

Hey Jer... No worries...
You only need to buy the 29606 1 time (Its the press tool) that pushes the 15639 into the Rocker arm and will work on both sides. You will need to buy 2 15639 joints for passenger & Driver side Rocker arms...
I bought a couple of extra pairs of the joints for the shelf should I ever need them again... I'm a fan of having a part even if its not needed at the moment... Padroo was smart to buy it now, regardless if its currently needed... I would suspect that most Prowlers out there are driving on a failed joint and or close to it... Glad this worked out for all of us...

Thanks Rich, now I see what they're for. I ordered mine. One more thing, do you have to take them out to see if they're bad or can you tell by looking underneath? Thanks for all your help. Jer

I ordered mine this morning and already got a shipping notification from UPS.

I think Rich owns the company!

Hi Jer,

The Rocker arm bushing can be viewed from outside the car.. Just look for broken seal/leaking grease...
Here is a good pic of its location from another POA member with the issue.

Thanks Rich, I just went out and looked at mine. I still have bumpers so it's a little harder to see but mine look good. Nothing leaking, no grease around the edges and it doesn't look like anything is cracked or broken. It makes me feel good knowing when they do go out, I have the parts to fix the problem. I worry sometimes about being able to find replacement parts but with so many talented people in the POA I feel confident that someone will always come up with a fix for any problem that may come up. I am so glad to have found the POA. Jer

Trying to order off their site, gives the options for my Province and postal code in Canada but only list U.S. as a country option.

You don't need to order directly from them... You can buy them right off of Ebay.

Just place in the part numbers for each and you find them..

$27.00 for one but $60.00 for shipping?
I was being lazy but I think I'll just see if my local suppliers can get a hold of them.
