I replaced a windshield in one of my cars and the tech started looking at the Prowler. I said you don't have windshields for that do you? He said I'll look and pulled his smart phone out and said we have 8 in the warehouse. A tinted BMW Z4 with rain sensor , Tint ,and factory garage opener was $283 installed with lifetime warranty. Nice to know that Prowler glass is available. 877 220 1727 Auto Glass Service. Nation wide retailer.

Most glass companies will have the glass for the Prowler. but most members that replace the windshield want the OEM one. Very few of them around

phil2237, can you tell me what the difference is. I just figured a windshield is a windshield. I assume they all have the radio antenna in them right?

I don't really know if there is any difference, but most owners want to keep their cars with the original parts with OEM replacements. Although thru out the years, there have been some glass that was replaced on different cars and when they were involved in an accident, they did not shatter like safety glass is suppose to, and just cracked. If the windshield does break, it does not shatter due to safety to the driver, The side and rear windows are suppose to break into tiny pieces. When replacing any glass, make sure it has (Safety Glass ) Embossed into the glass. You should be able to be read the Safety Glass message very easily off the replacement glass. As far as the antenna, replacement glass will or should be just like the original with the antenna
I would also suggest when replacing any glass that you buy it from a WELL KNOWN company as there are a lot of fakes & junk sold out there, especially from China

As someone who has replaced many windshields in many cars the OEM windshields will always be better. The main difference you will see in aftermarket replacements will be a waviness in the glass. The thickness and temper will be the same but the polishing is not as precise which distorts the surface. This is what gives it waves.

Had my windshield replaced last week with a new chrysler windshield. They said they needed to order a new 5" antenna wire that goes from the windshield to the antenna box because the new windshield has a quick disconnect on a short wire. They still haven't been able to get the part. I assume the old windshield had the wire attached as part of the unit. Has any one else had this issue and know the part # ? Last resort is to find a small bullet connector to crimp onto the old wire.
