The prowler you have purchased, was that your first choice of Color? Did you pull the trigger because the prowler had other things you were looking for? |

Being a former C-P dealer, I had followed the Prowler story from the 'beginning'... But I had absolutey no interest in the purple showcars... When I saw a yellow one at the 1998 New York Auto Show, I spoke to the Chrysler rep at the show on Saturday, he sent me a list of available yellow Prowlers on Monday and I contacted 2 of my local dealers to get the first available ... Best decision ...EVER! |

I was originally looking for the Woodward edition but ended up with a yellow one. The one I bought was a "too good to be true" situation. Yellow was by far not my first choice but I have grown to REALLY like the color. And boy does it stand out in a crowd. |

When we purchased our 99 Purple in April 1999 the only other color available was Yellow. It would not have made any difference. The Purple is awesome and we love it. |

Had always like the purple concept car and had even "ordered" a Bird go-kart in purple while "waiting" for my waiting list slot to come up at Roanoke Motors. Then, good friend of mine helped me work a deal at Bryden Motors in October of '98. Only thing was, now I had a choice - purple or yellow! Once I saw the yellow, didn't give purple another thoughts. Best decision Ev-ver! |

My first choice was red and black. I couldn't find one I liked so I got my second choice Mulholland blue. |

I was always partial to the red when I saw the pictures, but I knew watever one I would buy, I'd be doing some sort of flame paintjob, so since the first red I tried to buy failed to happen, I went for the black with the plan to do some real flames on it. But saw another black in a bad state and pulled back, struck of luck as I endup buying a red with a flame paintjob I loved Having said that, I would have been quite happy with a yellow as well, but if I had gone to another colour, I'd always have that red nagging in the back of my mind. |

My prowler was certainly not my favourite colour when I got it. I still thought the whole package was awesome so I went ahead with it. I have changed it a bit since. I think all the colours are nice. My least favourite is candy red and I have one. Still awesome. |

...didn't want the Purple, actually, didn't want a Prowler at all, just kinda happened ...Christmas, 1998...bought a Black 99, liked it better than the Purple, sold it, bought a Silver, tired of it quick and bought another Black...all the while I really wanted a Yelo, ended up buying 2 of them, sold one, kept one ...bought a Mulholland, disappointed in the color and the blue top, drove it 225 miles and sold it...bought an orange one, turned out to be one of my favorites, put 30K miles on it, winter and summer for 18 months, sold it ...bought a gold one to repaint, really liked the gold, but it is now Kandi Tangelo, color fits the car well...also wanted a Kandi Red, not my favorite, but I still have it ...all in all, Yelo was the factory color I wanted most and kept the longest, it still has only 225 miles on it...started and moved regularly, just doesn't go very far, LOL |

I had a choice of a Blue or Black Tie, new, and chose the Black Tie since the colors all seemed to coordinate. Never liked the front bumpers, but since they seemed to blend in with black, I kept them on. Black Tie was a little more expensive as it listed for around $47K, but not what I paid for it. |

I got my first 99 Red and that was the color I preferred over the purple, yellow and black. The next one was the Deep Candy that I liked when I saw it. Then I got a great deal on another 99 Red and sold the first one. You might notice a trend toward the color red, at this point. Then I bought the highly modified Orange partially due to all the mods but I liked the color, also. I bought the Purple mostly due to the great price, but I always liked the purple color, since seeing the first one. I think I am finished buying Prowlers at this point in my life. |

I liked the Mulholland but settled for black. My wife always wanted a Prowler and a black car so she got two for one. I love the black. It seems like I always had a yellow in front of me and another behind me at the 2015 Mile High Nationals. They claim yellow is the fastest color but I had to push the yellow in front of me and pull the one behind me up the mountain. |

I loved the Blue, so I went looking for a Mulholland Edition, and eventually bought it. Then I decided I wanted the original Purple, and after some looking, found the one I wanted and got it. The Yellow was a "spur of the moment" buy. I saw it and showed to my Son, who loved it too. So I decided to add to the collection. |

When I stated shopping for a Prowler about a year ago, I had only seen the black, yellow and purple. I bought a Woodward Edition (#79). The color scheme seemed to fit the car the best and I couldn't stop thinking about it while considering other colors. Also, being numbered and signed by pinstripe extraordinaire Rudy Kutey (Dr. Ru) appeals to me very much. |

I narrowed it down to silver and red. When I saw the silver in person, it did not do anything for me. When I saw the red, that was it. I looked at 4 red before I bought one. Very happy with my choice. |

When I was in search of a Prowler, I was searching with only "Prowler" on my mind. I didn't care what color it was. As I reflect, I'm happy with Yellow, but Candy is my favorite. |

When we're leading a long line of Prowlers at an event, I really appreciate yellow cars. You can look in the mirror and see them way back in the line. Given a choice when leading a lot of cars, I always ask an owner with a yellow car to bring up the rear. I can see how everyone is doing and if some got stuck at a light. Each of the Prowler colors is special to their owner. Why would you purchase a color that you didn't like? |

quote: Hi RPL, In a previous post, someone had said that there are only 12 Prowlers in UK, not much of options on colors. Also many would not be able to travel to different states to purchase a color they would like. Some buy a Prowler color that is not their first choice do to limited access to one. I hope this explains my post This message has been edited by ProwlerCar on 06-29-2015 at 03:15 PM |

ProwlerCar, You're correct. Buyers were not able to purchase the color that they may have desired. Cars were built in color batches and allocated to dealerships. The customer could not select the color they wanted the only choice was what was available. Batch build was necessary with the low volume and vendors painting all of the parts. |
