35 minute traffic jam on a 2 lane road in the mountains for a small bear in a tree. Go figure!

That isn't really so terribly bad......I've been at Yellowstone several times on their 2 lane roads, and the buffalo walking slowly down the middle of the road hold up traffic for several hours and the back-up of cars is 5 miles long You go nowhere!

Seems those big buffalo have the right-a-way and move like a snail....

WTH Mac,,,,"depending on the final date"? You are retired,,what else would you have going on that is more important than a POA event?

As far as the gorilla suit,,,,we thought you are that ugly all of the time,,,you mean there is a suit also?

Glad to see there is this much interest.
I was thinking of the bear on the short trail in Gatlinburg and someone blew their "growling bear" horn and scared the heck out of guy outside his car. There were only about 5 or 6 of us after lunch in town.
Was that bear on the way back from the train ride? We were prepping for the dinner and party and couldn't do that part.

Mike, I think you were there when we saw the other bear. We ran into you just as you were going to lunch and after lunch we took the 4 or 5 mile one way drive through the woods just east of town and saw a bear or two in a tree.
Someone blew their horn as folks were taking pictures of the bear.
I got another email from Music Road. They said they hope to get dates and rates to me by this week-end.

GEEZ! And I thought that sheep in Kerrville did a number on the side of my car. Imagine what a buffalo could do!

Whats the fuss? Seems the Black bears in Gatlinburg are quite tame......tourist can play with them,,,according to the CBS NEWS report, 9-11-13:

Not sure how it works for everyone but traffic and tourism would be lowest prior to school getting out...

The last week in Sept. is the NHN in Indiana. James Dean weekend & a lot of Prowler people attend that show. I'm just speaking for myself, we always go to that show, but make the event date what's good for everyone.

The main problem with the dates is that the hotel availability is VERY limited at that time of year. To get enough rooms, we will be at their mercy.
I also don't want to conflict with Gary's event in Baltimore, if at all possible.
I realize we will not be pleasing everyone but it will probably be a choice of doing it on one or two dates or not doing it at all.
Stay tuned, I should know something very soon.

It looks like the best time and really the ONLY week available is starting Sunday Oct. 26th, 2014. Actually the hotel is already booked, we will be across the street in the Inn, which is actually newer.

The rates are $ 99 plus about 12.25 % tax. They set aside 90 rooms for our block, but we probably won't get near that number.

I realize that might be later than some folks would prefer but again, they are packed at that time of year.
I have not signed a contract yet, I just got the info a few minutes ago.

Let me know what you think about those dates.
Check in Sunday Oct 26, NEXT year, not next month.

What a great time of year to be in the Smokies! I feel another Prowler Halloween party coming on. There should be plenty of color in the leaves. Book it Ed and they will come.
