quote: Thanks, I think I may have been distracted by one or more of the "Cans" that stowed away in the car after we all checked out of the hotel. P.S. With a little luck photo's will be posted soon. Some of you will be amazed by the lack of damage to the car considering it hit a Deer. |

Andria, Glad your OK! I guess your Real Rod bumpers sent the deer up & over the windshield (LOL). As for matching your flames on the fenders I'm sure the guy that did my airbrush work on my Prowler & my hot rod can make you happy. I can also put you on to the best fiberglass expert to repair the fender and any other problems. You got my number if you need anything. Charlie. |

More photos of Deer related damage: As you can see the damage was minimal given the circumstances and I was very lucky. The insurance adjuster will be here within the hour to look at the car. |

I think you dodged a major bullet there. You were really lucky. Hopefully everything will be repaired to your standards. Did it knock the exhaust loose ? lol Get that fixed under the insurance claim. |

You are concerned about the flames, I would say a good air brush artist can make it look right, they might have to modify the others some, but look at some of the custom paint jobs out there, they can be repaired in most cases Glad you are ok and had a good time at Larrys, wish I could have made it Good luck with the repairs This message has been edited by WildCat on 10-06-2012 at 07:20 AM |

I had the windshield replaced today with an OE piece. The other parts needed have been ordered and should be here by the time repairs are scheduled to begin on the car. I found an established shop locally that I am familiar with where the prior owner of my car had work done twenty some years ago. The owner will be doing most of the custom paint work and has a good deal of experience in this area. I am comfortable taking my car to this place. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday November 5th but I am taking the new fender in to him to work on as soon as it arrives. I am both excited and apprehensive at the same time. |

It'll be fine. That will do a great job and you will be happy with it. The main things is you can still drive the car now that the windshield is replaced. |

They are a set that Real Rod offered many years ago. You might check with Brian (Pantera) http://www.theprowlerconnection.com/ to see if he has anything to offer. Here is a POA thread to look at. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/017760.html Also check with POA member David Veu Casovic as well. (Maybe) I hope this helps. |

Update I picked my Kat up from the body shop today but it needs to return for a few things. The shop did a reasonably good job overall but I am finicky as many of you may already know so when the door lock did not operate with the key due to improper reassembly of the handle it did not sit well with me. I also wasn't really happy when the door would not open from inside the car. It is going back on Tuesday so these minor issues can be addressed. They also need to try to tweak the outside rear view mirror as it still sags even though the door has been repaired. Even though the insurance adjuster included replacement of the mirror in the estimate, I did not replace it since it did not appear to be damaged. The gasket was damaged and I was able to locate one separate from the mirror. Now we are thinking that something inside the housing may have been bent so if needed I will buy another mirror. Only time will tell. After I am done with the body shop, I will need to go back to the glass shop as the radio no longer gets a good signal. Today when I pressed the scan/seek button, it continued to go through the stations without stopping anywhere. Prior to the replacement it would stop about 25 times before getting through them all. I will guess it is a connection or ground issue. Anyone with input on this please chime in. Thanks This message has been edited by alrtg on 12-08-2012 at 08:55 PM |
