Tami - that was the first time. Four months later when I got my first stroker engine back from the engine builder it blew a hole in the top of the engine on my first run at the track. Then I REALLY did feel bad. BTW - I never have beat you in a race at the track. |

Yeah - you eliminated me at Texas on a better hole shot and closer to your dial in time. Even though I was faster I just couldn'r quite get up to your front bumper. \ Just another fun day at a POA event and the track! |

It's all cool. PM's are a great way to clear things up. It may not be as interesting to those not involved, but much more productive! |

Glad to hear some one's wisdom prevailed. I suppose he is as nice, in person, as any typical Prowler Nut. Thanks for the update. |

John - they had a 5.3 litre 300 HP engine in the SSRs in 2003 & 2004. In 2005 they upgraded the engine to the 6 litre ls2 (Corvette engine) with 390 HP. 6 speed became an option. In 2006 tuning tweeked the automatic to 395 HP and 400 HP for the 6 speed. My 2005 has less restrictive exhaust/K&N filter so I just picked 400 HP as round number for power. The truck is heavy but will they run 13's and low 14s depending on rear end gears in the 1/4 mile. This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 03-20-2007 at 10:23 PM |

Since we totally kidnapped this thread, I guess I will continue the saga. We had the Louisville 2008 POA event tonight. Well it seemed like it when Katbird (Brent) his son, his Brother (DesotoMan) his wife and three other people from their company showed up in Louisville tonight. They arrived in a Kenworth (big rig) based motorhome - not exactly like the pup tent my Dad took me camping in when I was young. We had a great dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House and the company was most enjoyable. I had to convince them that not all the stories they had heard about POA events from Snoman were true and they are planning to attend Woodward in their two 1999 Prolwers - a Purple and a Red. I was teasing KATBIRD about only posting 38 times and half of those are in this thread when I asked Jeff about his posts. He couldn't repeat them verbatem - but has only posted 2 times. We certainly need them to change that! Ends up Brent doesn't really not like my SSR, or all SSR's , or all Chevy's, or all GM vehicles; he ONLY like MOPAR - is it any wonder he'll fit in here? I gave them the rundown on Ed & AlleyCat, they already met MeanCat, and told them they should look up some other POA people at Carlyle. They have a 440 six pack 4 speed Superbird - 1972 I believe. It was nice meeting everyone - and thanks to them for a great meal and meeting new POA friends! Marty |

Marty, why are you always picking fights so you get a free meal? lol All's well that ends well. If they already met Meancat, it is all up hill from there. lol |
